As far as scabbards go, would you actually be able to sheathe a greatsword onto your back easily? I would think the human arm simply isn't long enough, so you'd have to remove the scabbard every time you sheathe and unsheathe. Also, that still leaves the issue of how you would hold mauls and maces and axes-- or do they have scabbards too?

And while we're on the topic, can the sheaths be at the belt instead of on the back? Please?

I hope so! : )Tokion wrote...
I always found DAO awkward, especially having 2 small daggers *magnetized* to my back. Will we get some kind of scabbards on our back in DA2 or even sheathing our weapons to our belt/side?

The only answer I got so far was "It's too expensive to animate etc."... so what's the real deal?

Why exactly aren't there bowstrings in the first place?

Yes, but do they have to be?

Easier? BioWare are supposed to be a AAA studio, one of the best ones in the business.BlackyBlack wrote...

It's quite sad that a smaller developer with a fraction of the budget and expertise can implement them, so why can't BioWare?

Forget horses. Grey Wardens rode Griffins before so we should be able to ride the next best thing. Dragons! Well it is called Dragon Age for a reason.
Eragon has forever tainted Dragon riders, so no.

That was a truly awful movie. The books were only slightly less so.Behindyounow wrote...

Anyway, I don't mind not having horses (or griffons for that matter), but it seems like bow strings shouldn't be that hard. I mean it's basically a straight line when not being used, and two lines connecting the ends of the bow to the hand basically when it's being drawn. I'm no programmer, though, so I'll take their word for it.

This is a big issue too, since all players spent at least 80% of their time in dragon age staring at their backs (other's back too in cinematic). I think if we can sheath our swords and belt our axes/daggers it would add alot of variety to our character models.

I'd prefer it if enchantments were a lot more subdued looking, so for instance the weapon would have glowing symbols along the blade rather than complete immolation.
I agree it would be awsome using glowing symbols. I don't like walking around with a fireplace or spark generator on my back ...
On topic: Bioware should really look into implementing scabbards. It's just a little detail but it would add tons to visual immersion and overall experience

But that still leaves weapons like axes and hammers out in the cold, although I think they look silly anyway. I would prefer spears and halberds in place of axes and hammers, and they wouldn't have to be sheathed when not in combat.
I'm sure there are solutions but like everything else, it comes down to time and resources.
