The premise is that the Heretic Geth are still a threat, even after Legion's loyalty mission.  This'd happen after that mission, as a matter of course...

Basically, some heretic infiltrator runtimes still persist in the
greater Collective.  If you destroyed the Heretic base, these are the holdouts mentioned.  If you rewrote, these infiltrator runtimes were isolated enough that the saw the Big Patch Update coming and covered for it.  Regardless if you destroyed or reprogrammed the
heretic base, these runtimes are now going guerilla (so to speak).  The problem?
 They have alpha build copies of the Heretic virus packed with them, meant for testing
purposes, covertly reprogramming a few True Geth runtimes at a time to
ascertain the virus's effectiveness.  Now they're using it in a
last-ditch effort now that the main bulk of the Heretics are history
through whatever means you used in Legion's loyalty mission.
 Fortunately, the greater collective detected this before it was too
late and enacted a collective-wide platform isolation contingency;
basically, no direct runtime or memory transfers between ANY platforms,
to isolate the spread of the virus, and are limited to GethSpeak (the
clicky noises) for communication.  Basically, they're all stuck in
whatever platform they're currently on until the crisis is resolved, be it a nexus hub, a mobile platform, a starship control unit, or any other myriad of platforms they may have.
 Most of the known infected platforms are present on Rannoch.

Legion
is informed of this; their first sign of something amiss is a message
from the Collective; no additional data files, just "meet at this
rendezvous point".  When the meet the Geth ship at the rendezvous point,
Legion tries uplinking, but finds they're completely blocked.  They
then get an audio comm in GethSpeak, through which the Geth ship informs
Legion of the problem.  Shepard and his/her crew are needed, as s/he has
expertise in efficiently gunning down Heretics, and also Legion, since their
platform was specifically designed for autonomy from the Collective and
is an ideal platform for countermeasure deployment.  If Tali's still alive, she insists to come along, for obvious reasons...

Plot holes?  Patches for them?  Opinions?

They better, Liara is getting treatment, Ash/Kaidan need treatment. It will make them alot of money too.

Yes they csan and alot of Ash fans have boycoted DLC until they get one with Ash in it. They release Tali DLC, it will sell, but compared to Liara and a possible Ash/Kaidan one?

After Horizon I couldn't care less about Ash or Kaidan, and the fact that Bioware only put them in that scene and gave them the same lines makes me think they don't really give a damn either. Besides any DLC that Bioware produce involving either two will end up with them each having the same lines... I just get that feeling.

Also fun fact while I was playing the first Mass Effect they were my least favourite characters and when Virmire came and it gave me a choice between letting one live and one die I was disappointed they didn't let me have a leave them both option. I did end up letting Kaidan die because after all he's Carth.

(I am ready for any abuse anyone throws at me concerning Ash and Kaidan so bring it on!)

However any DLC that Bioware makes it is almost guaranteed that I am going to buy it.

EDIT!: Oh crap hit the submit button before typing about what the OP said =P

Umm yes I like the idea very much and as I said if the did make a DLC about it I would buy it. But I think the idea would be kinda better if it was implemented into Mass Effect 3. Because if they did make that DLC I would want alot of dialouge from Tali and not just the insiting to come, then for her to stand there and not looking at her homeworld would be kinda not cool =P But hey that's just me and alot of other people out there.

As much as kraidy's whining annoys me, I agree. Liara not only has a couple of missions in the game but DLC as well and Tali was a squadmate. She doesn't need any more. Bring on the Alliance LI's!
