I've finished the game four times, but my first Warden, after Awakening...

Aleyna Cousland returned to Denerim a year and a day after her mysterious disappearance, and the people of Ferelden never knew where their queen had been in that time. Some said she'd gone chasing after the notorious witch Morrigan in Orlais. Others said that she'd been all the way to Weisshaupt on some secret Warden mission. A few whispered that she'd gone to Antiva to dally with the famed assassin Zevran Aranai. Those closest to her suspected that she had been trying to find a magical cure for the infertility that afflicted her.

If so, she had not found one - Aleyna never bore Alistair an heir, and in time it became clear that the Theirin line would be truly extinguished with his passing. Alistair refused to put his queen aside and take another wife, to the frustration of many among the Ferelden nobility. However, with decades to prepare, the monarchs did their best to ensure that there was a clear line of succession. It was made known that they wished the throne to pass to the Cousland family through Aleya's nieces and nephews, Fergus Cousland having.remarried by this time to carry on the family name. This was not a choice that everyone approved of, and it caused much disagreement among the Arls and Banns.

This was not the only controversy during the last Theirin reign. Queen Aleyna's insistence on the granting of a homeland to the Dalish elves did not please all, especially when so many humans had been displaced by the Blight and the civil war. Even more outrageously, she made both Elder Valendrian and the mage Wynne court advisers - the first time in living memory that elves and magic users had served the monarchs officially.

Although daily control of the Grey Wardens at Vigil's Keep was placed in the hands of others after the defeat of the Mother, both Alistiar and Aleyna kept a close eye on Amaranthine in the following years. The Wardens' numbers in Ferelden grew steadily under their watch.

Aleyena's faithful Mabari lived to an impressive old age. Whenever she left her husband's side, Aleyna gave her hound strict instructions to keep a close eye on him and not allow the kingdom to be burned down in her absence. He was the founder of a whole dynasty of Ferelden warhounds, and many an Ash Warrior boasted possession of a beast descended from his line.

Eventually, King Alistair began to suffer the effects of the Calling. While her own time might have stretched a few months or years longer, Aleyna would not leave her husband's side this time, and they walked into the Deep Roads together. What happened there is the subject of song and story, but no more is truly known of them.

Fem Noble Warden is infertile? When does THAT happen?

Not just her, possibly him too.  The joining makes them less fertile.  Apparently its impossible for two grey wardens to have children.

Its one of the reasons Alistair gives for breaking up if he's not hardened.  He also mentions it as a concern if he is hardened and the PC is marrying him.

That's all from memory and on little sleep and not enough coffee - if someone has more info feel free to correct me :)

By natural means, yes, so no matter how many times they sleep together they won't be having children. The doorway has been left open for 'unnatural' means, though, which people have taken to mean magic and likely not conventional Chantry-approved magic, either.

Slips in the bathtub some years after abandoning the Wardens in pursuit of Hot Antivan Elf. Tragic, really. And then Zevran shacks up with Isabella. Possibly Leliana as well in a glorious OT3.

Why do so many Wardens have such tragic endings? Posted Image

Heck if i know.

I went the "who wants to live forever? Me, that's who." route with my blood mage.

As of right now he is a street performer in Antiva. He juggles swords. On fire.

Not to mention the questionable wisdom of insulting a guy wielding swords on fire.

You'd have to be careful with that, though. The ice and fire would cancel themselves out if the two connected but if the flame swords are just held near the ice ones then the fire would be unaffected and the ice would melt.

I'm definitely not overthinking this.

my dwarven Sheild, Champion, Templar w(health/survival/tactical and one point of persuasion for good measure),

is still patroling the lands for good, and justice... and of course "The maker"

Perhaps one day she will Return to Orzamar, and be dubbed, "Paragon" and who knows finally land oghren and be married to the first dwarf in history that has been married to two different paragaons!

Hu hu hu hu,.... Oh boy here it goes, this is how I imagined my Warden's epilogue, at least after Awaening, and before DA:O2 :

Bahlgan Cousland destroys the Mother and returns one final time to Vigil's Keep to bid farewell to all his comrades in arms. Making a promise to his great friend and King Alistair to stay in touch to develop the rule, Bahlgan journeys further towards the Frostback Mountains, where he finally sensed Morrigan after a month of searching for her using the ring given to him.

With the help of Zevran and his warhound Cyrus, and even backed up on special favor by Fergus and his adopted brother Kaedah, he journeys and finally finds Morrigan participating in a ritual involving the god child. Through a long series of battles to slay the malevolent Chasind and Avvar guardians of the mountains, he fights Flemeth once more, who has tracked Morrigan down. Long story short, he ends up enduring the trials of the agony from his failed attempts to find her previously, and saving her from Flemeth once more by slaying her yet once again and forcing her spirit off Ferelden.

Morrigan and Bahlgan live peacefully upon their return to Highever, even if it came to unusual conditions, Morrigan works to become the girl she mentioned in her dreams holding the golden mirror, and the child is raised to be humanlike in society. Influence by the Chantry is not enforced.

Too idealistic perhaps, but there you go, this was fanticized before DA:O2.

EDIT : The god baby is trained by Morrigan to use his powers without drawing the attention of the Chantry, and Bahlgan trains him the morals and basic lessons on the meaning to be human. also he spends his life teaching the god baby the meaning of life, be it human or another, often through what they call Chivalry.

Now I do not know if it is confirmed whether or not the god baby will have anything to do with DA:O2, I am sure it does, but when the time comes I will be sure to adjust to the story on DA:O2's confirmations.

Significantly more upbeat than most other epilogues :)
It also doesn't seem to really contradict what could happen in DA2, off hand. DA2 is supposed to be cocurrent with the event's of DA:O.
I don't see Morrigan "Settling down" per se, but strange things can happen. :)

My blood mage took that route, too.  Of course, he went insanely mad with power, and plots to take control of the world after hundreds of years plotting....

Pretty much all my "main" Wardens' stories end in such a way that they're kept out of the "main" picture from then on. ;)

Heracles Cousland had Alistair sleep with Morrigan so that everyone survived the final battle, then went on to live the rest of his life with Leliana.

Who's Kaedah?

Long story. A friend of mine also plays DA:O and his human noble is named Kaedah.

In our coexisting storyline, he is an adopted member of the Cousland family, and is a student Assassin from Antiva. Been rescued at the age of 7 and raised as a loving member ever since. Also he serves as Bahlgan's personal bodyguard, should the need arise. He is also the secret third Warden to have survived the Joining. He was given his Joining separately from Bahlgan, Jory, and Daveth.

Significantly more upbeat than most other epilogues :)

haha thanks! I believe that there can be a moment of peace and happiness even in the most twisted, darkest moments in a story. As I mentioned, it isn't one of those necessarily "Cinderella Happy Ever After" story. There are conditions, and these conditions COULD fit well into my story. Bahlgan had slain Flemeth once more and drove her from Ferelden, thus how she ended up in the Free Marches perhaps?

Still working on the ending for my DE rogue. The elvish trickster god (Fen'Harel) has been messing with her life for 50,000+ words so far.

Summary to date: Aithne fell in love with Alistair in spite of her mistrust of humans, was dumped by him, and convinced him to do the Dark Ritual because she felt it was the best chance to defeat the blight with only a few Wardens available. She became chancellor, sorted out the problems in Amaranthine and left Nathaniel in charge so she could return to her position as chancellor. Devoting herself to the rebuilding of Ferelden she stood by when Alistair married a human noble woman and failed to get on with her life. Five years later Alistairs wife is pregnant and Zevran points out to Aithne that she should grow up and move on.

Then the plot thickens - Morrigan sends to Alistair for help because of a threat to the god baby and Aithne, Zevran and Anders head off to the Free Marches. Will the god-baby be taken by darkspawn, Wardens from Weisshaupt, blood mages, Crows or Flemeth; or can our intrepid heros get there in time? How far will the corruption of Aithne's honor go? Will I ever finish Aithne's story and write the sequel?

See what happens when you ask a simple question.

All sounds well thought out. Reminds me of Diablo 2, where the hero, called the Dark Wanderer, from the first game actually becomes the vessel of the villain in the second installment. Is that what you are trying to accomplish: Making your Warden into a villain for DA:O2?

I am a Zev fangirl, but I don't hate Alistair.  My DE was foolish enough to sucuumb to Alistair's boyish charm on my first playthrough.  That mistake has cost her much heartache and lots of difficulty in dealing with her new relationship with Zev.  I've acutally done the Alistair romance twice (DE and HN) and the Zev romance three times if you count my current playthrough with my DC.
