Well about a month ago I took a grilling class and got some recipes I figured I would share with you guys. Also if you wanna share any recipes put em here.

The following is taken from the papers the instructor handed out:

RULES FOR THE BBQ

We are in the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

Routine...
1: The woman buys the food.
2: The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables and makes dessert.
3: The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the neccesary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.
4: The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exsclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities take place without the interference of the woman.

Here comes the important part:
5: THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

More routine:
6: The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
7: The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks her if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat.

Important again:
8: THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

More routine:
9: The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauce and brings them to the table.
10: After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:

11: Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.
12: The man asks the woman how she enjoyed her 'night off' and, upon seeing her annnoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

Roasted Corn on the Cob with Garlic Butter
1-2 ears of sweet corn per person
melted butter with garlic chopped up and added
salt and pepper to taste
alumnum foil

Peel back but do not remove the corn husks. Remove the silk, add salt and pepper,. Brush melted butter liberally over the corn. Replace husks, wrap each ear in foil. Grill for 20 minutes on high heat turning once.

Boneless Chicken Thighs with Maple Teriyaki Sauce
Ziplock freezer bag for marinating
1-2 boneless skinless chicken thighs per person
1 part soy sauce
1 part ketchup
1 part maple syrup

Make Teriyaki sauce by combining soy sauce, ketchup, and maple syrup in the freezer bag. Marinate chicken thighs in the zpilock bag for 5 minutes. Place on a hot grill and cook for five minutes per side.

Roasted Grilled Mixed Vegetables
1 large onion
1 sweet red pepper
8 oz mushrooms
1 small zucchini
1 small summer squash
1/2 cup italian dressing
grilling basket

Cut up vegetables into large bite sized chunks. Place in seperate containers. Drizzle dressing over each  container. Place vegetables into the basket according to the degree of tenderness you want. Items you want o cook longest are placed in first, hose to be cooked least are placed in last. Let each vegetable cook for 2 minutes before placing the next vegetable. Five ingridients will take about 10 minutes to cook.

Haha, love your BBQ description. Here in Sweden we dont have a BBQ season nor any BBQ traditions that is similar to the american. However, I ate some real BBQ ribs on Hardrock Café in Edinburgh and I loved it. So this recipe is gonne be saved

BBQs in Australia are full-on male rituals, that's why I don't go to them. There's nothing worse than having some beer swilling, thong wearing slob cook you slab of meat. This sort of thing makes me shivers.

Steak with Sea Salt and Pepper
1/4-1/2 lb ribeye steak per person
Sea salt
Freshly ground pepper
Melted butter

Season one side of the steak at room temperature with salt and pepper according to taste. Grill on high heat. 2-3 minutes per side for rare, 4-5 for medium rare, 6-7 for medium, 8-10 for well done. Thickness will affect timing. Some prefer the touch method. Rare Steak- very soft, Medium Rare- a little firmer, Medium-firm, but still has some give in center, Well Done-very firm

When grilling is complete brush one side with butter and serve.

Rule 3 is incorrect.  It implies the man retrieved and opened the beer on his own.

How many men does it take to open a beer?
NONE, it should be opened by the time she brings it to him.

hahahaha, I received an e-mail with similar content, I thought it was really funny. I don't like barbecues, though, and I fail at kitchen (rice and beans are eveyday meal, with little variation), so, my future husband will have some problems if he wants to try this recipe ;)
