Me and my friend have been tryign to set up some on line play ( I have another issue with online too), and one problem I am having is that it will not allow me to use any premade characters, whether it be ones I have made or others built in to the game. It come to the screen which shoudl be filled with premade characters but it shows nothing, not even my character I have made. I am on the Linux version, though I don't think this is a problem with the Linux version itself.

If the server does not allow local characters, then you can't use them. You'll want to start a first level character which would get saved on the server.
If the server allows local vault characters, then you can use your premade ones.
It's all about the server setting.

If your hosting a game, or your friend is, move the characters you want into the servervault folder. If you do this, the character moved must be put into the folder of the player, (Player login name) to be accessed.
