Anyway, if you are getting that message like I was, here is a simple solution that worked for me and did *not* bork up my game: Go into documents/bioware/dragon age/modules and delete the "Single Player" folder. Something in that folder is connected with the issue. Don't worry, your game will create a new copy of the folder but the area will load.
