Interesting. I think that there will be references to many characters from DA:O. It will interesting to see how this is handled and even more interesting if some characters make appearances from the first game into this game. Although I think the NPCs that people wish to make appearances in DA2 might not show up. The people who could pop into the game could be people who came out with one or two lines.

If anyone could provide a transcript of what's said, I'd be eternally grateful.

I like the sound of more specializations.

Basic idea about combat: it's same as in DAO. But now it looks better. Better animations, super-quick moving into position.

No overhead view for consoles because it is just not technologically possible at this time.

= they are not yet good enough with programming for consoles. Sad and bad. Expect problems similar to Origins.

I think it's more that the engine wasn't built with the relatively low memory of consoles in mind. Had it been a multiplatform game from the start they could have designed it to work around the limitations.

"It's not a hack and slash game." Let's keep it like that Bioware ;)

"A baby would be pretty easy to finish off" made me laugh ^^

One thing more I can't wait for is how Bioware will reveal the rest of the world in Dragon Age. :P

Good podcast - I'm pleased to see that they consider the PC version of the first game to have been near perfect. The more I hear about this game, the more certain I am about my initial optimism.  There is a lot of good information ins this podcast.

The only true fear that I had has now been soothed: the pc version is basically the same as before, combat-wise. My god, I'm so relieved. I wasn't THAT scared, but the lack of information was making me neurotic. To hear them say it straight out is a gigantic relief.

But they also did not see the PC version- they're just going off of BioWare's word- I'll believe it when I see it...

I'll assume it's true until I see otherwise, personally.  If I have no reason to think something changed, I assume it hasn't.

I cracked up and shouted "HEY!" when I heard it. It's sort of like hearing your hometown get mentioned or something. But...if you were a town.

Posted ImagePosted ImageI agree with you.  Before everything was in this sort of limbo, but if they're saying flat-out that the PC game hasn't changed by much I find it hard to believe.  Mysterious silence worries me, but I can't remember Bioware every downright lying to me.

Grats! It's a shame they didn't technically know your answer, though.

Well, I bombarded them with about a dozen questions, so they kind of sort of didn't answer my one question?

Its nice to hear BioWare is saying the PC version will be tip top just like Origins and it very well may be just as good or better. But even the GI guys didn't see the PC version, so until we see some PC footage, I shall remain a healthy skeptic. But I'd love to eat my words that DA2 will be console-ized in some way and hope BioWare can prove my worst fears incorrect.
