Any DLC for Awakening? A DLC for a DLC...

Well technically, this is a DLC for Awakening since you can import your Awakening Warden as well as an Origins Warden.    Image IPB

This begs the question, however - will the new spells/talents/skills introduced in Awakening appear in this DLC?  I'm thinking that it must have all the new stuff introduced in Awakening.  Tier 9 items, Runecrafting, Spirit Warrior, Battlemage - just to mention a few things.  Therefore, if you import an Origins character, all of these new features will be available.  In fact, the Origins Warden will seem very, very underpowered compared to an Awakening Warden that you import into GoA.

Is this going to cause some game-play imbalances??  I can see how it would be super-difficult for an Origins Warden to fight against foes designed to take on an Awakening Warden.  Maybe that's where the difficulty/challenge lies??

And so "technically", DLC for an E(xpansion) P(ack), hence the "EP1" designator in the filenames for Awakening-specific stuff.

And I completely agree with Zy-El in that my DA:A Warden can walk over stuff that would drown my one from DA:O!  Image IPB

I guess I had just assumed that BW will employ the "scaling enemies" technique they've already programmed into the game to keep things "appropriate" to the PC's level.

That's going to take a lot of "scaling" to make up for 10 levels, unique tier 9 gear, new skills, new talents and new spells.

It might be possible that an Origins Warden will be raised to some minimum level, just like a Warden beginning Awakening had a Minimum Level of 18.  Also, there may be new gear in the module that would bridge the equipment difference.  But I don't think they would add the Awakening skills, talents and spells since that would partially discourage purchase of Awakening.

But that does suggest some interesting questions.  Will the level cap be raised for this DLC?  Will there be any new abilities?

So, are people going to import their Warden from Origins or Awakening? I'm tempted to just import from Origins, I actually don't like Awakening with an imported Warden so I may just play it with my Origins commander.

Yeah, it sure is! Image IPB  Let's see now... "All normals become Lieutenants.  All Lieutenants - Bosses.", etc.  I know my party would be hurting if, for example, "Shattering" suddenly didnt work at all ! Image IPB

I'm doing a playthrough of Origins now, that I will take through Awakening and then Golems.  Though, that might take some time, so I might try importing directly to Golems, or even starting a new character (I presume we can do that) for Golems, just to see how it plays.

So, if I load my Origins Warden, she'd be jacked up to say level 30 in order to be somewhat equivalent to my Awakening Warden . . . well, to be honest, THAT WOULD SUCK!!

I'd rather play up my Warden to that minimum level rather than have her jacked up.  It just feels too "artificial" much like the respec'ing my character.  I don't do that either.  My Warden has developed to be the Warden she is through her experiences, choices and encounters in Dragon Age.  To highjack that and respec her into some cookie-cutter perfect template would just rob her of any individuality.  BORG'd!!  No thanks!  Image IPB

As to the second part of your question - a level 35 Warden doesn't need any more new abilities or skills. They might allow 1 or 2 levels of advancement which would be in line with other DLC's.

I'd like to see another expansion to dragonage origins before DA2 comes out.
Maybe for that closure that everyone wants from the warden we all have come to love.
I just love playing as my warden
.

Indeed.
Sadly, we will most likely see fan-made Mods of this before Bioware would indulge our wants <_<

Why so pessimistic?  Yes, they missed the mark with DC and hopefully, they've learned from that disaster.  LS was closer to what players wanted and it was very well received despite the changes to Lel's story and reuse of old locations.  With Golems, they seem to be getting closer to what we really want . . . to be able to play our Warden again.  Image IPB

DC only came out 3 months ago, LS about 1 month ago and we're going to receive this new DLC in less than a week - that's 3 DLC's in 4 months!!  Image IPB  We still have 7 months to go before Dragon Age 2.  Given this rate of DLC releases, we could expect up to another 5 DLC's!!!  Somewhere in there, I'm sure they're thinking of a full expansion similar to Awakening - maybe finally resolving the Morrigan/Dark Ritual loose end; it would be the perfect lead up to DA2.  Can you dig it?!?!  Can your wallet handle it??

I don't care the cost!  I'll buy it in a Darkspawn frenzy!!  Image IPB

Speak for yourself. I loved that they were trying to do with DC.

I have really high hopes for this DLC, being a dwarf obsessive. I hope the fact that Leliana's Song was $7 and Golems is $5 doesn't reflect the length of the DLC. Hopefully it just reflects a reduction in cost!

Even if it is short, I'm sure it won't dissapoint.

I agree and still we get a DLC with story!

also i think lelianas dlc was more expensive cos it was voiced, so they would have to charge more so they can pay the voice over

So, I'm confused. Is this dlc 'not' going to be voiced?

The Warden was never voiced, so certainly won't be here.  Leliana was always voiced, and so was in her DLC.  That is probably what Tezzajh was referring to.  Other characters are always voiced, I think.

So I guess they are using ME2 music for Dragon Age now.

i have a wonder, if you import from origins, then complete golems, then can you import all of that into Awankening?

If you are talking about your stats, probably not. The patch 1.3 was to make it possible to transfer your character to Awakening. We would probably need another patch to get the DLC and Awakening compatible. The most you can expect is a item that will be added to your inventory, because you purchased the DLC.

Chronologically this DLC is supposed to take place after Awakening.

This DLC will start at HIGH level, higher then what Awakening will allow you to start at... so I assume that this will not be able to import into Awakening.
