Consider this:

I tried playing Awakening with the 1.04 patch and nothing is fixed - none of the listed fixes are holding.

Do you *really* want to support a company that realeases incomplete software and doesn't make much of an attempt to fix it?

I am willing to bet that *crucial* pieces of GoA will be utterly non-functional, and we will be waiting another three months for fixes that may or may never come.

I know this sounds harsh, but...

Don't get your hopes up!!

His problem is that he's playing Dragon Age on a PS3 - screw $ony!!!  Go buy a PC, man!  The game works fine for us PC users and we can get free mods too!  Image IPB

Oh JOY!!!  24 hours to go!!!  Image IPB

The temptation to throw a sicky at work in the morning is quite high.

I play Origins on a PS3 and my game works much better after 1.04 after
minor bugs before that. It is not $ony, they don't eat up money like
keeping a PC up to par would cost. I can't be doing with upgrading it
all the time so I go with a console where I can sit on my sofa and just
play. In my opinion much better than PC but everyone has their own
preferences.

Good on you!  I'm happy the game works for you.  Image IPB

Yes it is a lot of work to maintain a PC but I use mine for work as well as play so I can write off the expenses.  Yes, playing on a console is easier but the cost savings are somewhat offset by the higher expense inherent of console games.  For instance, I bought my PC Dragon Age: Origins for only $30.  I know that the XBox version costs around $60-$70.  And consoles do not have access to player mods - and there are quite a few of them that add considerable re-playability to Dragon Age as well as other moddable games.

The price of PC's have dropped over the last few years.  Six years ago, I had to spend upwards of $3000 to get a decent machine; nowadays I can get something far more powerful for half that price!

Yeah, if you are going to play Dragon Age... Play it on PC. This is the first time Bioware has made a game for three systems right? They aren't perfect at it, as you can see with all the problems. I bet everyone who made the game plays it on PC.

I think the problem with the console version of DA was that Bioware employed a third party software company to do the port to the consoles. From the sounds of it, they did a pretty shoddy job and Bioware is left to clean up the mess.

ARe there different versions of PS3's such that certain models are having problems whereas others are not? I know there are different versions of XBox's and some of them are C**P.

I've only played it on my Xbox 360, but never experienced a single problem or bug in over 4 playthroughs, ALL the DLC, Pre-Order items, etc.

And as of last night, I now have ALL Achievements (first game I ever bothered to get them all). YAY!!!

I'm cautiously optimistic about this dlc. Playing my Warden again will be great, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

I'm curious about this too. I'm new to playing on a PS3  and haven't experienced most of the issues affecting other PS3 players. My games do get choppy at times but that only really started happening consistently after the patch right before Awakenings.

In any case, looking foward to tomorrow's DLC :)

I for one am very satisfied with the DLC and Expansion that Bioware has put out. To me the expansion was more then I could have dreamed, I think people were expecting it to be a full on sequel... Which it is not, but it is kind of fooling being so huge. What you need to compare it to is other expansions for other games. Most, if not all, do not give you nearly as much gameplay. Also thinking about the DLC, I didn't get Darkspawn Chronicles (seeing it as pointless), but the only other that I felt was pretty lame was Return to Ostagar. But even that was fun to go around and kill things, see the tunnels of the tower, and get some very cool armor/weapons. In fact, Cailen's Armor and Duncan's Sword were on my Warden up until Awakening... so was the 5 dollars worth it... I'd say so. I do find it strange that the Warden's Keep items don't transfer to Awakening however... Good thing you don't really need them, because Awakening presents much higher armor. My Sentinel Armor better Transfer to this DLC or I will be upset for the first time.

So what time tomorrow do you think it'll be released? Isn't DLC released around 12 Noon, Bioware time (Edmonton, right?). So, that'll be anytime between 11am-2pm, depending on where in the US you live. As for the rest of the world? I have no idea.

I think it looks badass. I like the trailer, esecially when the dwarf writes to you and recognizes your greatness
