My experience of Morrowind: a hiking-simulator, punctuated with combat battling a hideous combat system, and npc's that are like carboard cut outs of people - and about as smart, trying to walk through walls. Complete immersion kill.
Tried to like it, and played it for several hours, after which I resigned myself to the fact that I'd just wasted my money on a game with few redeming qualities.
