My game won't reconize combat anymore. When enemies attack the game treats it as if I'm not in combat. My followers just stand there(not attacking unless I order otherwise) and continually heal. If an enemy kills them they immediately revive.

So basically even though the enemy is attacking me the game won't reconize i'm in combat. Any way to fix this?

I had a problem with this, too, at first. I think I figured it out. First off, if you want them to always follow their tactics you need to keep it in Follow mode. If you go into each battle setting them to Manual/Hold Position they won't always stick to their tactics and often they will just stand there all stupid - even if you have them set to Aggressive. I don't know why.

What I ended up settling on is always manual controlling Alistair as the main tank then setting the mode to Follow. I have not had a problem with my party members going brain-dead at all since then and they always follow their tactics through.

They are on follow. I'm not sure you understand, the game doesn't even realize i'm in combat, not only do the followers just stand there (in their out of combat stance), they regenerate health and revive just as they would out of combat. This problem just now started and never had it before now.

The only thing I can think of is that I critically messed something up in the editor, as I edited Morrigan's spell list right before this happened. But the problem persists across all characters and all saves. If I could mess something up so badly by editing a savegame file then this must be one of the poorest toolsets I've come across.

Ahh. I understand now. Wow that really sucks. Good luck on getting it fixed.

That's pretty scary that you can mess up the combat mechanics by editing a spell list...

But honestly I've had some weird problems with combat too, so I'm wondering if it's a general bug that you just exacerbated. Even when my party is one follow, half the time they'll just sit there stupid. Luckily I'm used to manually controlling them, and kind of like it - but sometime I need them to use tactics for a second while I'm busy. It usually happens after I've had them on hold, and put them back on follow. They'll still act as if they're in hold mode, and no combat will attract them.

This just in, I can't even lose. If everyone in my party dies, they just continually resurrect. Guess that's what would happen if a trap killed the whole party.

After much searching I've finally found out what happened.

Fixed it by deleting everything in "...\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override" and "...\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\modules\\Single Player"

Apparently messing around in the toolset can seriously mess up your game, so beware. And if you have any problems a simple purge of the aforementioned files will fix it.

Can't believe how shady the toolset can be.
