I didn't even get to watch the ending cutscene. The picture jumped sluggishly, skipping tons and tons of frames and looking like some kind of stop motion film while the little Yoda guy congratulated me in audio. When he finished congratulating me, the game ended, even though the visual of the cutscene was nowhere near the end yet.
Please bring KOTOR to the Xbox 360

Still majorly disappointed in the direction that KOTOR went when they skipped forward and made it a MMORPG.

unlikely
the orignal KOTOR is playable on the xbox...
I'm equally pissed that every rpg is turning into a mmo, which means no console port ( microsoft aint gonna let us play for free and the publisher need some revenue to keep th servers going), but in this case I truely feel shafted the original kotor was first published for the xbox and then ported to the pc.
whatever I may get when it comes out

While the game runs ok on the 360 there is a small problem with the sound going off at random moments.
My question is since KotoR was/is so popular, Why doesn't Bioware just remake it for the 360/PC?
Good to know it wasn't just my copy.

Happens to most people. Sound issues. Cut-scenes either playing up or skipping completely. Also in combat while playing on Paragus and numerous other combat's when selecting an enemy my PC would just run on the spot. And when walking in general would go about 1/8 of normal speed. So please bring KotOR to the 360.

They should re-release kotor 1 & 2 in a collection and update some things or just make it actually compatible on the 360

With more and more games opting for a HD redux, it would make a lot of sense to do that for kotor 1 and 2. Neither game works that well with 360 backwards compatibility (with 2 being pretty awful), so re-tuning the games is a must anyway. I still own the originals on xbox, but I would fork over $30 for the games if they were updated some, and I'm sure others might as well. As mentioned, it would probably help get more people excited for the MMO.

30? Heck they could get away with more than that.A lot of the current generation of gamers hasnt played them yet..
Would love a vista/7 compatability patch/upgrade as well.

Wouldn't it be Lucas Arts' decision to put it up on Xbox Originals? I always figured until they give their permission KOTOR won't be an Xbox Original.

i would love for them to do what sony is doing by remaking hd versions of old games. if they somehow make tor for the 360, i would expect them to remake kotor 1 and 2

I agree a remake of 1 and 2 for 360 would be awesome. I would definitely buy it especially if it was a reboot leading into the story finishing KoToR III. Come on Bioware we need it you can't leave us hanging

Nice thread, I was about to make one like this but I'm glad this is up here.
I've thought about this like crazy, seeing that KOTOR is one of the greatest games I have ever played in my life (the story, the twist, unmatched).
Here's how it should happen:
- Remake for the 360 (PS3/PC also if they feel like it, but I'm a 360 guy) with HD graphics
- Add achievements
- KOTOR 1/2 together on one disc
- Xbox Live play. Nothing that would mess up the main story, but something on the side like online ARENA or online PAZAAK. Whoaa that would be amazing. Can even release Arena/Pazaak XBLA game for $5 for those who wanna experience that without buying KOTOR again.
--- For Arena/Pazaak, can import your player/cards from the main game, or have a fun little side game to go along with the arcade version where you travel around fighting guys and collecting better cards
- Downloadable content. Extra sidequests for sure to extend the game (with new weapons/armor). Extra characters if they wish (non-story characters obviously like Kasumi in ME2, or like Juhani in KOTOR).
Bioware wouldn't have to add new voice acting or anything (unless they added new characters, who wouldn't talk much). Shiny new graphics, some online play, and extras if they feel like it.
I'd pay $50 for this for sure. KOTOR is GOAT and I need an updated version in my life. Playing Dragon Age now for the first time and I love it... but I need to experience KOTOR once again in a new way.
WHO'S WITH ME????
If you know where I can contact Bioware/LucasArts directly, I promise I will keep pestering them with this.
Btw here is a petition I just started, spread the word!

I really don't see the point of remakes. If all Lucas Arts did was recycle the original Star Wars X-Wing Death Star attack sim we'd never have gotten Kotor, Jedi Knight or Battlelfront.
What we should be demanding is more great original ideas from the same universe (this excludes MMOs). Not more retreads. Producers listeners to the BS that marketers spout is why Hollywood produces nothing interesting anymore.

I like your ideas Imadogg but personally I don't even need all of that. They could given Kotor the Riddick treatment and put it on the 360 but I wouldn't mind if they just gave it the Orange Box treatment. Just make Kotor 1 & 2 playable for the 360 without the issues mentioned, box it up with the MMO or preferably a real Kotor 3 and I'm paying full price for it. I just wonder if all the technical issues of playing on the 360 is what's keeping it out of the Xbox originals marketplace. But it is difficult to find a good copy of this game without paying an arm and a leg and then it may not play on your 360.

IT WOULD BE SO EPIC IF KOTOR WAS REMADE BUT WITH BETTER GRAPHICS AND MAYBE IT COULD BE A 3D GAME. COMMENT

After waiting forever for a XBOX 360 release, I just finally bought it for my laptop off Steam. $4.99. The only game I have ever played on my PC was WoW so I was a little skeptical because I am computer stupid and was worried about the control. I am just so used to using an XBOX or PS controller.
So I was pleasantly suprised at the control. The games runs great and even though I am just at the beginning, I feel like I am going to love it.
So if its your only option, just buy KOTOR on Steam and play on a PC or MAC.
...I also got Deus EX 1 and 2 for $3 total. Nice.

I'd love to see them on XBL Arcade with achievements. I love me some achievements.
Also...maybe finish up some stuff in KotOR:2 that was cut from the original.

I think if BioWare could bring Kotor to the Xbox market place the would, but I don't think they own the rights to make it happen.. However I would love to See Starwars: Knight of the Old Republic HD hit the market place.

I think the PC version was superior, the load times on the XBOX version sucked and the game benefited from being played at a higher resolution so I think they should give the game to GoG so they can update it to run on Windows 7 and sell it for $9.99. They wouldn't be losing money since it's selling for $9.99 on Steam anyway.
A 360 remake would be fine too since you could install it and run it at 720p.
