I'm here to use the forums not partake in all of this social network mumbo jumbo. I'm already 'forced to be here', and as a mod put it in another thread 'it is what it is,' I believe. Well, it could also be a forum worth using, but it's really hard to navigate, and efficiently post.

As such, here are things my previous "beta" forums had, that I hope this 'forum' can incorporate to make things, well worth using at all.
  • The ability to preview posts.
  • The ability to extend the text input area for long posts
  • A theme, or option, to severely reduce the size of avatars and the "icons" that go along with every single forum thread and reply on the main index of each board area. They're obscenely large currently and take up entirely too much space
  • The ability to minimize, hide, or otherwise organize the main index of forums as I see fit. It's entirely too hard to navigate currently.
  • The ability to delete my own posts. Primarily to combat double posting myself as I sometimes forget how sluggish these boards are so far.
  • Some much, much more user-friendly themes and layouts... at that, can anyone tell me where I can find the current ones? The "forum settings" options at the top right don't seem to contain it and despite me looking all over it seems, I can't find it anywhere on the left hand side either.
  • Kudos' for this thread, and other threads in 'suggestion' areas on the board (primarily the Future Suggestions section Warhammer). This isn't needed for every post, only certain sections.
I'm sure I'll find some more to add in, and feel free to suggest your own.

If any of the above are already in, and possible... please let me how to access or do 'em! This post is in no way to flame, or degrade the current boards and their functionalities. I'm genuinely interested in making this place more functional and easier to use for everyone.

I very much agree. Also a lot of screen estate is taken up by the border. In the end the actual forum area is tiny and this makes it hard to read.

I wish web designers would stop working with the assumption that people use specific screen resolutions.

I'm ok with the size of the avatars, personally. And I don't find the website hard to read. For that one, I think you just may need glasses, Bostur. :P

I agree with the delete button, though. I occasionally double-post, though mainly when I'm trying to use my god-awful wireless connection and it appears to give out half-way through posting, so I have to hit send again, and the page reloads to display a doublepost in all it's glory.

I do have some complaints about the website functionality as a whole, but it's more for group settings than general forum settings, so I won't even go there.

Being able to hide the gaming forums of games we don't personally have would go along way, that way I'd only see the warhammer online forums which is the only ones I'd like to see and maybe bioware tech bits but not the other games.

Meh, youre right I do need glasses. I find other forums much easier on the eyes though. I guess the combination of grey on grey, and the fact that I need to turn my head to the right to read the posts, are the main culprits that makes me feel like I dont really want to read this forum unless I absolutely must.

The tip about the large letter theme did help slightly though, thanks for that stardazzled.

Thanks a bunch. I found the Theme options, but where exatly is the "font" option?

Here's another issue:
  • Remove the auto-spacing from posts, or something. Whenever I type, if I intend to create a new paragraph I believe I already know I need to put a 'space' between paragraphs. Currently, this board... forces you to space between them resulting in double spaces I have to go through and edit out at the end. What's up with that?
  • And don't even try copy/pasting and expecting it to work properly. Due to the above, if you copy/paste from another thread you'll have to go through and delete the double spaces again.

The marvels of quick reply.

There is no seperate font size function. I use 'Large Font (BioWare)' as my theme. The others are Default (BioWare), Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 2, Gift of the Yeti and Warhammer. A lot of people already asked for larger font (inside games and on the forums), but until now, it's either the Large Font theme which cuts the visible signature size or the magnifying tools of your browser.

Like Khayness already said: This happens when you use Quick Reply. Use the standard form. (I often am too lazy to use standard, only when I absolutely want to have smileys. I edit my posts anyways most of the time for grammar or spelling (or because of an additional thought). And editing always happens in the standard form as usually does quoting.

PS: +1 for the previews

I just went thru 100 e-mail notices about the topics I'm interested in. I really hate this system. I can't subscribe to any more topics no matter how much I enjoy them.because I don't want 100 e-mails saying someone has posted something, Why oh why don't they make the "My topics" available. It had everything I was interested in right there and no excessive e-mails. so very sad. Thank you for giving me a place to complain.

This is the only complaint I have about the social network.

Another addition: An ignore feature/update to the block option?

I've located the "Block" option in profile settings -> privacy, but that states the person listed can no longer contact you/see your content (I assume your posts?). That doesn't do much if I don't want to see their posts in the thread.
