I've not run into this problem as of yet but I will be swapping hard drives soon and doing a clean windows install, so I'd like to know how this will work ahead of time as well. When I reinstall DAO, if I log into my account will my DLC automatically be detected and redownloaded? From perphi's post it doesn't sound like this will be the case.

Did you rememebr to login to the game using your bioware login? That controls availability of the DLC.

Doesn't seem to matter. I had to reinstall as well thanks to the new patch making my game unuseable (THANKS Bioware!), and lost all my DLC content (Warden's Keep and Shale). To top it off, I can't get the stupid game to pick up ANY available DLC content even though I'm logged in, I've done pretty much all that Hemish suggested in the other thread... I'm darn near furious at this point. I do NOT want to start over.

Oh yeah, already tried going to EA's bloody useless site.  Their idea of 'customer service' is a joke.  And if it helps to know, I have XP.

reinstalling the game because of the patch rather than fixing your glitch actually causes more problems people... reinstall the patch... go here and get the microsoft update that's causing the patch to not work because it's a problem with your computer and not the patch.... THEN, run the configuration utility from the launcher and find "repair" in the left list, and click "clear download cache" in the center panel...

Thanks much, Jiron, missed that thread. It's re-downloading now. Hopefully, that will be the end of the problem.

Huh? x86 runtime? Where did you get that, shouldn't windows automatically upgrade c++ if you go to their site?

If the c++ update doesn't work for you, you can easily solve the problem extracting original .exe of the game from the game disc and replacing the file.... it worked for me.
