Since the DLC levels cost $7 and it takes around half an hour to get through each of them...  And it took me over 61 hrs to beat DAO the first run-through.  (got to lvl 20, did all the quests I could, listened to most dialogue, etc)

So if it takes me 1/2 an hour to clear a $7 DLC...
and 60+hrs to clear DAO,  (subtract 1 hr for the DLC to get 60)
then shouldn't DAO cost $840? :P

Or maybe instead the DLC should be either cheaper, or have a helluva lot more content in them.    :D

And Farcry should have cost about $2 since it lasted about 8 hours.

Seeing as I ran around in the Stone Prisoner add on for about 2-3 hours the prices must be very personal...

Over 7200 hours spent on WoW, I cringe to even think about it.

I'm sure that if you felt like sending BioWare the difference they would not object.

A premium sound system for my car costs $500 and weighs about 2kg. Since my car weighs around 2,000kg - a thousand times as much - it should cost $500,000 right?

OTOH you actually pay each month in order to be able to play that game... :)

Now, apply this to something like Guild Wars with a free online gameplay and we get an interesting concept. I think I've payed less than 1$/hour of play there :)

61 hours to beat first time around! I guess youre not much of a reader then? (no offence meant, but it can be a wordy came). Anyway, double that for me - 123 hours from start to finish of main campaign.

I havent downloaded the additional content yet. Hopefully they will also take me twice as long to play.

Good point. All DLCs together will later probably cost as much as the full game at release, only that there will be much dissent about the question whether they even reache the quality of a regular Addon like Throne of Bhaal.

Ah, well I have both and played both a lot. I canceled my WoW account earlier this year though so no more money going into that.

Haha, for me the major drain would be TES III: Morrowind.

By that pricing system it would have cost me around $5000 for that :P

I usually pause when I open my screens, including codex entries.  I read all main-theme ones, as well as ones pertaining to my character, items/weapons found, or general interest.  Others I skimmed over. (but probably read the next play-through, since I'd be a different character/class/origin.)

If I hadn't paused a LOT,  I'm certain it would have taken me at least 80hrs to beat.  But 123hrs?  Good lord!  You must be studying the entries!

I don't scimp on the story or quests.  I've been lvl 20, 22, 23, and now probably again 23.

You don't get those lvls by just running through and doing main quests!

IDK, how heavy a car is doesn't enter in to why I buy it.
