I think I just got what this Harbinger comment means.
The reapers are pissed of by Saren's Failure in mass effect 1 and are disowning the entire turian race for it.
....Wow, talk about petty.

Maybe he was talking about the batarians, But mixed the name up with "turians".

It's because turians are warlike and miltaristic. They had to make the volus a client race just so they didn't have to deal with things like money.

Harbinger has a comment about all the races. Not just turians.

He was talking about specific Turian.

The one you heal.

No, he was obviously referring to the entire race on a genetic level.

When does he make these comments, I've never heard any racial slurs from Harbinger only...

Asari were considered weak for needing other species to breed.

Salarians lives are far to short

Quarians are snubbed for the immune system

Turians are primitive

Krogans are considered wasted for the genophage

Geth are snubbed as being useless and primitive machines

Miranda is impressive for her genetic tailoring.

Thats all I remeber.

That's Harbinger's way of saying "Nice ass, Miranda."

The asari comment is pretty hypocritcal considering that they use other species as well for their own ends.

It was my impression that the three original Council races deliberately specialized in different things so as to make themselves interdependent, reducing the chance of war with each other. Obviously the Turians once had great science, for instance, or they wouldn't have developed FTL travel and found the Citadel. So I don't really get why they would be considered primative... then again, who am I to question Harbinger?

YOUR FORMIDABLE MILITARY POWER IS AS NOTHING TO THE REAPERS.

Harbinger hates Turians because they are always overdrawing and coming up with lame excuses.

They are too busy doing calibrations to worry about their checking accounts. If Harbinger had to do that many calibrations he would understand.

Turians look like raptors.

Raptors are primitive.

Turians are primitive.

Honestly, the OP's explanation is far better than the alternative.

Seriously, a spacefaring race thousands of years older than humans is "too primitive"?

Logic fail.

No, I see the thinking behind it.

Think about it, Turians have a famous reputation for being stauch, war like and VERY unflexable as a race. The fact that they have advanced technology and lots of ships is irrelevant to the Reapers, who see these things as useless compared to their own might and power.

So.....if you strip away the technology and ships Turians have, you end up with just their mentality, which is to say, war like and clan orientated. To a machine like Harbinger, failure to be flexable and adapt is a weakness, and thus, primitive.

So yes I can certainly see why Harbinger would dismiss Turians as a viable possibility as they, arguably, are the most primitive race in the galaxy.

That's Turian culture you're talking about. Harbinger is talking about their genetics. I think he (and the writers) just couldn't think of any reason not to be harvesting Turians so he just made up any nonsensical excuse he wanted.

I think they're reasoning for not using the asari isn't what they say. They'd probably agree with the krogan... Too squishy. Nowhere to get a good grip.

True. Maybe the Turian genetic stucture is weak compared to Humans and Krogan. That might be the reason why you see so few Turain biotics (something that seems to interest Harbinger a lot.)

Turians are dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are primitive creatures.

Well, that's just how I took it anyways.
