Turians can't use biotics, hence primitive.
Incorrect. Here's what the codex entry on their military says:
Biotics are uncommon. While admired for their exacting skills, biotics' motives
are not always trusted by the common soldier. The turians prefer to
assign their biotics to specialist teams called Cabals.
Also, this:

How come when Sovereign possesses Saren, killing Saren kills Sovereign, but when Harbinger possesses a Collector drone, killing the drone doesn't kill Harbinger.
It didn't kill Sovereign. It just glitched Sovvy for a little bit, and that's all that was needed. There were also a ton of ships whacking away on the kinetic barriers. Not enough to break through them, but still a power drain to absorb all that incoming fire. Not to mention tracking all of them as they flew about while simultaneously continuing to hack into the Citadel and controlling the Robo-Saren avatar while it engaged in 3-on-1 combat.
As for the difference, I put it down to Saren's implants being a bit of a rush job done after Virmire. There hadn't been enough time for the Reaper stuff to fully integrate with him and actually allow Sovereign to ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL whenever it felt like it. Such as during the conversation where Saren is able to resist long enough to do this:

You also gotta factor in the large amounts of time the Reapers had to fully optimize both the Collectors themselves and the implants that were used on them.

Besides Saren, I don't remember seeing any Turian biotics in either game. And Saren seems to be a special case, since seems to have been altered so much by Sovereign.

Cerberus Daily News mentions some Turian biotic cabals. It says they die from artillary. So they can be biotics, they just suck at it.Mallissin wrote...
After ME2, I don't take the Codex literally anymore. Could be propaganda, suggesting they have biotics in their military and they're in secret hidden groups, but has anyone seen any?

How often do you run into the Turian military in Mass Effect? Seriously.

Yah, that makes me doubt their existence even more. "We had some, but they got fragged."
Anyway, there were Turians in the Blue Suns and I'm pretty sure we fought a few in ME1 too. I don't remember any using biotics. Same with Salarians.

Hence the "uncommon".

I just thought about that... I have never seen a female Turian across all my Mass Effect playthroughs and I believe the only occasion where i've heard of a female was when Garrus was explaining how he had reach and she had flexibility... Would Turian be considered too primitive because they keep their women in the kitchen on Palaven to prepare those delicious Dextro-amino meals?
They don't do that. If the artists weren't lazy, half the turians you see would be female.

Their is an answer to this question. Fully possessing a subject drains Reapers. It been comfermed in the new book ME:Retribution. When possessed Saren was kill it stunned the reaper allowing the kill shot. Kill the possessed host just stuns the reaper.didymos1120 wrote...

They're just as military as the males.

Can't believe I forgot about this 'til now: who got hired to instruct the kids in the BAaT program? Yep, you got it: turian biotics. Most notably, Commander Vyrnnus. So, both the origin of Saren's abilities and the lack of other turians with biotic abilities in-game are irrelevant: they exist.

Well, all species can feature biotics in varying frequency. All it requires is a pregnant female to survive an element eezo exposure with no damage to the infant.

Perhaps Turians don't distinguish between their sexes in their pronouns? Perhaps the differences between the sexes are so minor than their culture never developed language to differentiate.
Sure, Garrus does but he takes up with femshep and is clearly a deviant.
