(for people too lazy to copy paste)

Anyway, I'm liking the sound of the "smartass" icon, maybe your responses won't be as vague as in ME

Thank you for the link.

I don't understand this, does it mean they will show the story in black and white like the 40's?

"Tapestries" are what they are calling their interstitial animations. These are the equivalent of newsreels from the 1940s, although done in a woven tapestry art style. They will update you on the story, and fill in information between missions.

I think it will be like DAO's intro of how the darkspawn were created

"...DLC from Origins will be tied to this game as well. You will see characters from that DLC in this game."

Or better than that, it could be like what we saw from the 1st demo:Dragon Age II/An Epic progress
check  this : Nicholas Thornborrow and his work. (from 1min50 to 2min55).
I'm quite sure this is what G4 is calling a tapestry: a medieval graphic art style (thinking about how the two dragons are stylised)
So, remembering BG and the way the new chapters are introduced, it could be a very nice narrativ graphic style for interstitial animations.

The last two hands on I have read, both says the game looks better then the first, so I better keep my mouth shut with the graphics till I see some gameplay.

From what I saw on Game Informer, the part they showed in the video looked similar to the intro.

Yes this part is the intro, and this is surely how Varic is telling Cassandra what happened in Ostagar, but the graphical and animated style could also work with the narrative parts, imagine how he will describe the coronnation of the King of kings Orzammar, how the Tower of Circle will be save etc etc (do not forget that the events in DAO will have their place in DA2)

New, distinct graphic style? Not going to lie, I'm a little afraid for the combat.. More blood and explosions doesn't make it better.. Hopefully they aren't going to make the combat more like GoW.  (Meaning all the gore and owning everything you see.) Everything else sounds like an improvement.

The graphics will most likely still be rudimentary in any footage we are shown at Gamecon. What we played at SDCC was basically the screenshots we've seen so far.

Don't you think the version you played was only a beta or something that's not finished yet?We didn't saw the armor skin cause it's too early, not ready yet.So graphics will surely be improved

It didn't look too bad in the 'An Epic in Progress' imo, although the landscapes need a lot of work.

Well, I'm quite disturbed by this remark... "We definitely want to reward characters who have played Origins and the DLC, and we want to reward them in a way that can also continue past Dragon Age II."

Dammit. I didn't get the pantaloons on my last playthrough. If they make some 3 game combination pantaloon item... That's it, I'm playing again.

PS. Did anyone import their pantaloons into Awakening?

I'm not too thrilled about the gore explosions and the endless finishing moves.  Honestly, they drive me nuts in Origins as it is.  Nothing like having your rogue do long, slow motion pirouette and behead a genlock when Wynne's getting hacked to bits by a hurlock or two.  Or Alistair doing a slo-mo emokill of an ogre which renders the rest of the game unplayable for a few seconds.

The dirty ones dug up by Dog!

EDIT: I just deleted this post. It's too much of a spoiler. And I kinda want you all to suffer the misery I suffered with Baldur's Gate. (That's more than enough info.)

I never managed to get those damn pantaloons on one playthrough, either.

Anyway, I'm curious about which DLC characters they might be talking about. I haven't actually played any of the DLC, so besides Shale I'm not actually sure who would work.

Controls: Are now more responsive. Orders are easier to issue, and happen immediately. According to Laidlaw, "I want something awesome to happen every time I hit a button."

I continue to disapprove of this marketing point. Makes it sound like Hawke is just going to plow through everything like some kind of human lawnmower (more like spawnmower, am I right? yes? no? okay). And I'm not just talking about the areas where your abilities are supposed to be exaggerated by the narrator, because I don't see anything in this line of marketing which would indicate that it only applies for certain portions of the game.

They say it will still be a challenge despite this... but we'll see.

PC interface: "The PC interface will definitely be more robust."

Hm.
