Thats not correct. I just tested with 1.04 and no mods and the damage of longbow, shortbow as well as the dagger improves. To update the damage display you have to switch the weapon slots.

No problem! So to conclude there is a dex bug for both daggers and bows on console, but a bit different.

@Folis - I distinctly remember testing this out with a XBOX user a while back and he confirmed that bows pulled from both Strength and Dex. Both the consoles and PC are the same when it comes to a bow.
The calculation should be: Bow Dmg(From the Inventory Screen) + .625 * (Str + Dex - 20) / 2.
Should come fairly close. After that add .2 Dmg * Your Level if you are a Rogue or .4 * Your Level if you are a warrior.
