god i hate pc platform fanboys
Check the DAO sales figures, consoles have outsold pcs by a giant margin - without the evil devil-spawn console users, developers like Bioware would have a much smaller profit margin which means much, much smaller development investment = less games, expansions,DLC, polish
Your dying market needs consoles, like Agent Smith needed Neo
The market isn't dieing. The sales figures you are refering to don't account for subscription based games and digital sales (steam, d2d, impluse). Oh btw, your platform wouldn't EVEN EXIST if not for the pc platform fanboys. I hope you enjoy your lack of player created mods.

Order it from the US Amazon.com. I just ordered a DVD from Amazon.uk and paid $14 for it shipped. The exact same DVD on the US Amazon was considered an import and would have cost me $32 + shipping.Riggazz15 wrote...

btw, there is piracy with console games too. especially with the nintendo ds for example, piracy is enourmous.
granted, if you allready own a huge high definition tv, the price of a console is remarkably cheaper than the cost of a gaming pc, then again if you don't the numbers are not that widespreed. Plus you get better graphics on the pc, unless you are playing games that have been developed towards consoles and then later been badly ported.

So far, loving the game - havent had as much fun in a game for a long time and i want to thank BW for that.
Ill start with the cons - the PS3 version has alot ot faults with glitches, pausing, eye hurting frame rate and looooong battle reset times after each battle, but other than that (not saying its not a problem and should be fixed) the game is great fun and beautiful. (although graphics arent amazing, the set pieces and effects make up for that me thinks - im also going to play arond with upscaling setting tonight on my ps3 as i think it might be affecting it)
I have been playing on normal / hard and i feel i have a good grasp of the game and how to use tactics etc now. Im going to start again on nightmare tonight using the following party
me - Elven (only Origin i havent played yet) Rogue (Duellist)
Alistair - Pure Tank
Wynne - heals
now i cant decide on cc / debuffer and would love your input
Im trying to decide between Morrigan and Leilan for debuffs and CC
I havent really used Leilan yet and am comfortable with Morrigans abilities. I also like the banter between Morrigan and Alistair
what do you think? Any suggestions. What about a totally differnet make up than that? (am happy to drop Wynne i dont like her personality but i think ill need her uber healing spells for nightmare mode)
I also like Shale but he loves to fall over alot, and a sword and board has always been my favourite medievil class so would be nice to take control of him and smack heads with a shield)
As for rogue / duellist - i want to be able to sneak around pre battle for tactics and planning. Also be able to open up everything AND take down pesky mages at the back with little to no fuss (is there a better specialisation for a rogue for these tasks then a duellist?)
Sorry for the wall of text
have fun!
going to go buy lunch now so will be back soone expecting lots of helpful info!
Cheers

It was probably my most anticipated game for a long time. Though it would be torture if I had followed it from 2004

if you're looking for a dagger rogue then ya duelist/assassin(7/14) is the way to go ranger and bard are more for ranged or support rogues. As for duelist-assassin comparison, the duelist is basically just a melee rogue upgrade and assassin is for focus firing a single target, so duelist is the better choice as a first spec imo but luckily you can get them both.
exactly the information I was looking for, thanks!

i use shale in stoneheart mode and when possible rock mastery. stoneheart really helps with aggro control and i tend to play with the aggro of the mobs.
as for his stats i focus on constitution, strength and dex. the 2 available item slots, i use to boost these stats.
but keep in mind i play on the pc, probably a different style in this particular subject aswell
