David Gaider explained...

Not all qunari have horns. Some are born without them, but it has never been considered a defect. Instead the mark is considered special, indicating one who is clearly meant for a special role in their society — as a Ben-Hassrath who enforces religious law or as an envoy to other races. It is also not uncommon for qunari who abandon their beliefs to remove their own horns, for reasons not yet clear.

This part of the article leaves me a little bit confused.

Which qunari are marked as being special, the ones with horns or the ones without? I'd say the ones without horns, as they stand a better chance at furthering qunari - human, dwarf or elven relations, if you can call it that. I can't imagine that a horned qunari would make the same, non-threatening impression as a hornless one would.

Love the new art-style by the way, only the hurlocks haven't managed to convince me yet.

Not to interrupt a fascinating debate, but you guys realize that the "Qunari swordsman" in that render doesn't have a sword either, right?  Like maybe that's just a render of the creature without any gear on to show the physical differences? And Qunari do not, in fact, fight naked and unarmed?

Well, there goes an opportunity for some female-oriented fanservice. I suppose the chances that swordsman is posing for a "Beefcakes of Beresaad" calendar are equally slim, then...

I believe he means that those without horns are considered special. Note the reference to interactions with races or others that are not Qunari. Could be why Sten is part of the Beresad.

...I want an Easter Egg item called "Beefcakes of the Beresaad."  Which subsequently turns out to just be some meatloaf for Hawke to snack on.

Yes, but from steel armor to warpaint? Crossbows and cannons don't seem to have made armor obsolete yet in Thedas.

That's really disappointing, Dragon Age 2 is gonna be the worst damn game ever!

It's okay, I'll keep the forum updated on the exploits of my shirtless, glistening Gay Hawke.

Whoa whoa whoa. Back the train up, you mean to tell me that that IS just a piece of concept art? That it's NOT the exact image of what every single Qunari HAS to look like in DA2?

That just makes no sense whatsoever

:P

Why is this turnin into a Lord of the Rings discussion?

You know how any album left in a car for more than two weeks turns into a Best of Queen album? Any thread on a Dragon Age forum, if left to itself long enough, becomes a Lord of the Rings discussion.

Yay Terry Pratchett! Yay Neil Gaiman!

so instead of horses we got riddable mongooses that run in random directions? can we use said mongooses to neutralize the charge of a half naked disarmed jiujitsu black belt qunari?

I'm calling this out now: mongooses will be romanceable in DA2.

You heard it here first.

EA games just announced they exclusively signed LeBron James as for the Cover of Dragon Age 3: Witness

LBJ is the only choice as a playable character, and is shirtless w/ his lame kiddy tatts for the entire game, he is locked into 1 weapon, a basketball, although he has a side ability of blinding foes w/ chalk dust

In order to conserve resources, BW is going to use the same model they used for the Qunari, only without horns. They will re-use the Beard art from A Man Called Hawke

This question is near the top of my list. Right after, "Who would win in a fight between The Tick and the Yellowstone Caldera?"

Trick question!
The only winner there would be Arthur.

Wow. This discussion has just gone off topic. There is, like, nothing to talk about anymore.
