Or perhaps the darkspawn are one of the reasons the Qunari came to Thedas from wherever they came from. There's nothing to say that the Deep Roads don't go underneath the oceans as well. After all, Sten isn't sent to study the Darkspawn, he's sent to study the Blight.Grommash94 wrote...
Huh. Maybe the Qunari sent small scouting parties to Thedas before they actually invaded?Herr Uhl wrote...

I didn't go through all 34 pages so I don't know if this has been brought up. My theory is that Flemeth is a Qunari. If you look at the concept art she has the same style horns as them. From the screen of her coming out of the fire she looks younger and her hair is White. Her hair in DAO was more of a dirty gray. I'm kinda wondering if she had another Girl lined up behind Morrigan that she could take the body of. Any theory's?
Though I do wonder where the ogres came from that were in the previous blights. From the codex:
"Traditionally, they only appear during a Blight, but some records claim that ogres have been spotted in the Deep Roads hunting alone or in small groups."
So, where did they get Qunari to use if they were discovered between the fourth and fifth blight?
That said, I really want to know/see where the Qunari originally came from.

But they did refer to Qunari as "horned giants" before. We simply presumed these would have to be just helmets because we never got to see an actual horned Qunari.filetemo wrote...
I have to say I give Kordaris the edge on this one.
I consider a retcon the fact that something who plays an important role now, was never mentioned earlier, even if "we never said it wasn't like this"
that's cheap tactics bioware. If the elven alienage was built on the surfice of an ancient reaper ship you can't just say "we never said the opposite"
Just admit you are making up lore on the fly. It's fine. Even Hollywood does it all the time.
Although I know they were referred to horned giants before, do you know exactly where?

I don't mean that she would have been a Qunari from the get go but after the events in dao she may have been in search of her next body. I thnk she may have gotten a Qunari body after that. you can see the horns here
http://fc04.devianta..._MattRhodes.jpg
The horns are definatly Qunari looking to me. Another idea I have is that Flemeth will be a party memeber.
http://media1.gamein.../wallpaper4.jpg
You can see what looks like a Qunari on the far left. if so it could possibly be flemeth.

Having a single advancement that others do not does not make a culture "the most advanced in the world". Again, the dwarves have clockwork mechanics which requires a sophisticated knowledge of engineering, math, and metalurgy.Kordaris wrote...

I'm constantly amazed by the things you write. Where did you get that the Qunari are the most advanced civilization on Thedas? The only advancement we know of is gunpowder
No other civilisation on Thedas has such sophistication.

it may not be what it means, I don't know.English is not my first language, not even my second, but I get the point of what they mean, and I feel it's cheap tactics, regardless of semantics and grammar.

but anyways i have been very sceptical and i do not like the new look of the darkspawn of what i have seen, but i must admit this qunari looks fantastic and is a definate improvement. and also explains why ogres have horns. not quite sure why not having horns is considered special but it is a nice twist as to humans having horns seems special and intimidating but to the qunari not having horns is special and intimidating.
mr. gaider if you please could clear up the following quote as i think it is an interesting point somebody made.
thanks in advance.

Actually you must have several advancements in order to reach gunpowder weapons, only after certain period and accumulation of knowledge creation of such weaponry is possible. And they also require engineering, so it's not like the dwarfs are above the qunari level.Jimmy Fury wrote...

Agreed, the dwarves have far more advances than the Qunari imo.

It's an interesting question. Where could they have gotten the qunari from, if there were no qunari in Thedas at the time?
Hmmm...

Branka's so-called "smokeless coal," Caridin's golems, etc. Though arguably those could be the result of their ability to handle lyrium.

Smokeless coals is without any use for people living above the surface. Golems are a lost lore. Lyrium might be useful, but in the end the dwarfs have two cities left, the Qunari their empire and lands conquered, so the lyrium doesn't seem to be that powerful compared to firearms.Grommash94 wrote...

And, erm, how does gunpowder help anyone besides the Qunari? They aren't sharing it with anyone. Golems are not lost lore, as it was discovered how to make them again...which, you know. The dwarves are also the ones always fighting the darkspawn, making sure they don't constantly stream above. Yeah, the dwarves have done absolutely nothing to help Thedas or advance their civilization. Yep.

Only with the use of anvil which they can't replicate-thus lost lore.Golems are not lost lore, as it was discovered how to make them again...which, you know
That is highly unlikely since they have only two cities in existance in secluded areas of Thedas with one almost completely isolated. Most of Thedas is beyond their reach actually. The dwarves are also the ones always fighting the darkspawn, making sure they don't constantly stream above.
