I believe they look more like tieflings, and the females will look good too, something like those seducer demons, just less ...horny

They remind me of the oxen from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Except humanoid.

Not complaining, just an observation.

Now that you mentioned it, this Goron does look like Sten..

Maybe if Sten loses control of his cookie addiction he'll end up looking like that.

Look at that hair, though! The beard is also similar to the beard from the Sacred Ashes trailer!

Oh, those horns can be removed, how convenient.

Swords and fire can solve everything.

Edit: Actually nevermind, I don't want to whine about it.

Most (if not all?) horns can be removed.

Heck, if they're more like antlers than true horns they'd probably shed them and regrow new ones.

Now they have to make a DLC that changes the appearance of Stan, or we will not be able to get used to the looks

I love it. The whole art style change has been pretty positive so far. SO much better than the boring art style from DAO. I mean, what's the point of being Qunari, an entirely different race, if you just look like really buff humans. Yet again...people will look for anything to complain about! Kudos for the new art direction.

No because that would be a retcon.
Why is "there are horned and unhorned Qunari" not making sense to so many people? It's a natural occurence. It exists in the real world in like goats and cattle and such. There's even a word for it... Polled.

To be fair, Gaider did mention that if we were to see a Sten model adapted to this new art style, while he wouldn't have horns, he would indeed look different than the Sten of DAO.

David Gaider wrote...

For those who are concerned:

Yes, on one level the qunari look different-- just as the darkspawn look different, or the elves and dwarves look different or any other model in the game will look different. The artistic style has changed, and that will affect everything you see to one degree or another. If you met Sten now he would no doubt look different.

Would he have horns? No, he would not.

Okay guys, relax.

I thought about it for a while, and then suddenly realized that this is concept art.

If you don't understand, look at the DAO development sketches for LelianaAlistair (!), Zevran (!!!) and Sten himself. I think the qunari won't look quite as... excessive... as we fear they may be.

Basically, let us not trust concept art.

Good point in bringing that up

It is good point, but I wish the Qunari did look like this instead.

It's an interesting question. Where could they have gotten the qunari from, if there were no qunari in Thedas at the time..

In your statemant you implied that qunari came from another world ;)

Err... perhaps you inferred that they came from another world. We've said that qunari arrived on the continent of Thedas from elsewhere just over three hundred years ago. Nothing more.

a) Ogres appeared after the Quanri invasion.
B) Qunari were scared ****less of humans and hid in the Deep roads until found by the Darkspawn who used them as Ogre making machines. This event made them brave and strong and technologically superior. They left Thedas only to come back with boats and Cannons 300 years later. Strangely, even after all this, Sten's Arishok did not know anything about Blights.

Yes, a Xivilai to be more precise.
Something which the new and improved qunari have an uncanny resemblance to.

Then I would wish them to fade away into oblivion
