Lets just hope they are allowed some individuality like the other races and not just be clones like in DA:O

49 pages of this?? really?? there's dorky and then there's just sad, this debate over Qunari's is geting into star trekian levals of dork here, let's pull it back to acceptible dorkiness and not lower ourselves to that yes
LMFAO! That may be the greatest post to ever be posted on these forums. "Star Trek levels of dork" hahahahahahahahahaha

The Dragon Age universe doesn't end at Ferelden, and Seheron and Par Vollen are places we so far know very little about- surely we should be embracing these additions to the Thedas lore?
Take for example the Argonian and Khajiit races from the Elder Scrolls series- their Arena incarnations were basically humanoid with different colouring, but by Oblivion they had become fully-fledged beast races (although Bethesda have gone some way towards explaining these differences).
If everything stayed exactly the same as in DA:O it would get dull, and as long as BioWare aren't taking major liberties with the canon and start telling us Maric was actually a vampire or whatever I'm happy to embrace these changes.

Those without horns are uncommon-- the horned qunari are more common. As for ogres, how do you know they all have horns?
This is so weird. First I find out qunari have horns, now it seem most of them have horns? I've played DA:O soooo many times and yet I feel like a big fat know-nothing... I love it!
The qunari are a very interesting race and I hope all this focus means that they will be more prominant in DA2 than they were in the first game.

Edit: Also wanted to say that the horns thing is no big deal. I think it looks great! We're a ways off from the game going gold and I'm always mildly sad to see people cry over little nit picky things.

I think they do a pretty good job of explaining it. And seeing as Qunari are only seen in two places in DA:O I think they had a good opportunity to really run with their imagination.

It's not pointless. They're horns.Woodstock-TC wrote...
pointless change. design it right from start for a game world.
generally " im all horn s" (NWN2 quote off btw :-)
innovation (or "evolution" ) is nice and design considerations are understandable.
Still if i would watch LOR and Peter Jackson or Joe Bleakley would have changed the design of the Orcs from one part to the other it would have been pretty lame for the sake of continuity, no ? My point is to anticipate a longer lifecycle for art and story while moving in the same game universe of a given time frame.
In case of Klingons in old Star Trek vs. TNG, yes there was difference, but the whole series moved on. Nearly everything was redefined. There was AFAIR (Sorry never was that much into star trek) never a change from one episode to the other though about lets say Worf looks.

Not a valid analogy. The Lord of the Rings trilogy, at least Jackson's, was filmed all together over the course of a year and a half. They filmed, designed, and did pre-production and production for all three movies at once. Of course there's no way they would have changed the design--it was all happening at the same time.
And since EVERYTHING is getting a stylistic facelift in DA2 and the qunari are just the most obvious example, I'm not going to bother calling inconsistency. If the changes are cosmetic and everything looks better because of them, that's just dandy.

Tatts were cool from like 1992-1997, after that, every stripper in FLA got one, then the Myspace thing happened and every 15 year old try ing to be a Webstar got a bunch. Horrible
Tatts are like Croc shoes, every **** on the planet has a pair, and every **** thinks they are some trendy scenester or radical counter culture type

But... but... I like my tattoos...
NEVER THE LESS, game-wise, if the female Qunari have tattoos they gonna mean something. Probably... most likely. It seems a Qunari-like thing to do, I believe at least.
But it would be strange if male ones had them and the women didn't.
Plus, full-body female tattoos on warrior women with horns would be... umm... AWESOME.

This is a cool approach to something new. But you must be a bit short sighted to see that not all qunari are like that. These people must be ones with great importance, even greater than Sten. A chief, king, prince...I think these are the Horned qunari we see.
Other way around. The non-horned qunari are the minority, and considered special. The horned ones are the majority of qunari.

Reminds me of DBZ, Human to Ape; or in this case to bull.

its not the point actually wheather it was filmed all together or not. getting in the movie one year later and recognize the world as "ah yes thats an orc from LOR, or ah yes thats a Qnari from DAO, or ah yes, thats Alien, a Prädator or an overhauled Klingon after initial TNG redefinition", that is.
The change itself can be good and nice looking. For the world itself as a whole its my be not (imho).
