Wow. Fanboys.

Well I don't know who stated that..above quote, but please tell that person from me to add me to the list, so that makes at least 14 copies you are committed to buy, to make up for my one non-sale. :P

damn, missed the tail. oh, and gargoyles already have horns :D

Looks like a minotaur to me,  all it needs is a cow face.   I don't want to see Sten come back in some dlc, all gussied up for hallowe'en.      I'll just try to remember him the way he was ORIGINALLY, before someone got the bright idea that the stripes and horns and stylizing of the artwork was gonna be a big hit, with those of us who have followed the game since the start.

Granted there are some that think the horns and stripes are "way cool"..but thats the younger set obviously.    Still like the original graphics.     I will play Origins,  but thats about it.   Let me know when the game becomes Dragon Age again,  you know..something that rings a bell, seems familiar?

How do you get 14? I only have to buy 7. Are you trying to make me go broke? Are you unbuying negative copies?

BioWare should just write a patch update to all of the Qunari and give them horns. LOL I like our new horned invaders.

Sten won't be changing (in any meaningfuly way)

What's the exact age range on that "younger set"?
I'd just like to know if I'm too old and must therefore change my opinion.

Well, no, what Gaider said was that Sten would look different in this new art style, but he wouldn't have horns and he would still be bronze-skinned, despite this concept art showing a horned grey-skinned qunari. (because whether they have horns and what their skin color is can vary)

Exactly. He won't be changing.
Adapt perhaps, to the new style as a whole, but not change.

He certainly won't have horns or stripes like the (very important) person I was replying to said he would.

Personally, I like this concept of the Qunari better. I didn't really see how sten's race was supposed to strike fear into the hearts of the nations they went into war against. After seeing the new concept art, I fully understand. I'd soil myself if i had to fight one of those guys!

They're not disrupting continuity in any way. Think of it in real life terms, i mean if you go to any city in the world, everyone is different in their own way, with either little or big features. The qunari don't all have horns. And just because some of them do doesn't mean all of them have to. In bioware's defense, we saw and heard VERY little of qunari in DA:O. Just because we have a few giants or midgets in our world doesn't mean now EVERYONE in the world is soon going to be a giant or midget.

Seriously, would you rather have another fantasy world with another race that looks exactly like humans, only taller and slightly more muscular. Or would you have another fantasy world with these beasts?

Sten was quite the badass, but if one of these new appearances jumped in and started killing my opponents to death, I'd just kinda feel bad for them.^_^

for me the new qunari rocks! not just because i like that sort of characters but it gives a much better feel of a violent distant race every one fears so much i mean, sten for me was just a ordinary guy with demonic eyes. hell i had a guy in class who looks just like him....

and besides aren't the elves and dwarves human-ish?

i hope they will give some more background on the qunari and let's you actually see a qunari every now and then.

as for bioware's approach on this, i think it's totaly wrong to say some qunari have horns and some not (you dont see a tall dwarf or an elf without pointy ears do you?!) why not say that only the older qunari grow horns or only a certian social class or that there are 2 diffrent breeds of qunari, cause they are kinda beast like in there ways.

I like the new look to the Qunari. It makes them look more threatening and not just a giant race of humans with bronze skin. Now I kinda hope we'll see Sten again with this new look.

Personally, I'm just here to watch all baby-whiners roll over the floor crying on the forums for not getting what they want.

Seriously, that age gate is just for show.

I really liked this concept art, and only partially because I love tieflings. First of all it actually does make sense in regards to the Ogres, as I can definitely see how one of these might become one more so than, for instance, Sten.

Also, I support the idea of defining the Qunari more from Humans, at first when I played DA1 I was under the impression they were more of a separate kind of human tribe or nationality rather than actually a race on their own.

So I am actually... well, quite pleasantly surprised by this, although I seem to be in the minority *laughs*

They do look rather like the 4E concept of tieflings, at least with the horns.

The new qunari looks like a real improvement to me. Sten just looked like a tall guy with corn rows. He was just a slightly different skintone away from looking like just a normal black man.

This new Qunari look is... scary... and completely non-human. But I realy like it. I hope we will get a chance to play one someday in the future. I liked Stens character in DA:O and I would love to get to know his world.

How about wating for the game to actuly come out insted of juding it from a concept art the trailer has'nt even come out yet. People can be soo quick to judge <_<

I love the new Qunari. To me, it seems very appropriate to have a race with such alien ideas look the part as well.

I was always under the impression that the qunari were supposed to be more of subset of human rather than a totally alien race, and that their theme was logic and science, with a xen belief system of the Qun and all emcompassing government to directly contrast the Ferelden confederacy of banns, faith Divine Creator religion and magic. I kinda liked them human better because you could relate to them, and the whole entire difference being the mindset is a lot more subtle and well played in my opinion, but hey wearing a huge sign saying LOOK AT OUR DIFFERENCES works as well...just not as tactfully.

So long as you don't take away the violence of it all...this game becoming all tidy would be about the thing that breaks me as far as visuals go.

I find it weird that a lot of people in the first few pages (possibly more, got annoyed after a while) are saying we only ever really saw Sten. We saw plenty of Qunari up close, having fought with literally dozens of Qunari mercs in the game, all of whom looked pretty much exactly like Sten, and none of whom had any horns.

Personally, I wish they'd make this into a different race, because the Qunari were the only race in the game that were new (Elves, Werewolves, Darkspawn, Humans, and Dwarves had all been seen before--speaking of werewolves, I would loved to have had one on my team). The game could certainly use more unique races, and I think the best compromise would be to include this as a different race, and still keep the Qunari the stoic giants that they seem to be.

I know I'm a little late to the argument (like 62 pages late) but I kind of like the new look. Aside from the Kratos jokes that could be made, it looks good.

I dunno, the werewolves in this setting seem to be even more feral than they typically are.

I think the new look is okay, kind of extreme but I'm pretty sure once I start playing I'll get used to it. The explanation makes sense to me, especially since in DA:O people act surprised or shocked when they see Sten, which means they aren't used to seeing many Qunari anyway. It makes sense that we've never seen a horned Qunari before too, and the Ogres back it up. I really thought the Qunari were interesting and I was hoping they'd let us choose to play one of them as a class, or at least have a mission that let us deal with them more but oh well, maybe in DA3 of they make one.
