They're not disrupting continuity in any way. Think of it in real life terms, i mean if you go to any city in the world, everyone is different in their own way, with either little or big features. The qunari don't all have horns. And just because some of them do doesn't mean all of them have to. In bioware's defense, we saw and heard VERY little of qunari in DA:O.
Agreed 100%.
As my example, there are dwarfs with no beards right? Why not an odd Qunari with no horns?

I read a lot of complaints but everyone seems to forget that Sten was a Qunari of the Beresad... what if there are more sub divisions in the Qunari people? What if those Qunari's are related by blood with the Beresad in their ancestry BUT have long since evolved into their own clan and different look. Remember the story of the Time Machine..the people on the surface and those underground (I forgot the names lol)... both humans, but time, enviroment and circumstances have made them completely different.
It's something to think about.
I for one don't mind the change, new look, new world... can't wait

But... if the entire race looks like this... then I am sorely disappointed.

I'm pretty sure you're in for some disappointment.

Indeed. Also, BioWare has been pretty frank about the fact that they are making changes to the art style in general.

look at their legs!! they turned into goat people
I think it's still important to remember that we've only seen the concept art.. As been proven before, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's the finished resault.
And looking at this: http://bioware.files.../da2_races.jpg their legs look more like humans than goats.

Like others have said, we haven't really been subjected to the vastness of differences in how the qunari can look, unlike with dwarves and elves.
It's refreshing to know that Sten is not the template for how all qunari look. Then again, Sten could be representative of a distinctive sub-species, similar to how in other fantasy settings both elves and dwarves can be divided into their own respective sub-species.

Why do people keep saying this? Elves were just skinny humans with pointy ears, dwarves were just fat small humans.Ahlek Da'Kitar wrote...
Wow! Frankly, I'm quite surprised at all the negative feedback regarding the changes made to the Qunari race. I myself was actually disappointed with the way Sten looked in Origins. I felt that he just looked like a tall human.
Why not **** about them as well?

They are changing the way dwarves and elves, just not as much. Read the whole artical.

They'd be super easy to kill. Just bust their mask open and blow in their faces. Germ warfare!

Not even Charles Darwin would be able to make sense of this "evolution".
While I will concede on the point that the "new Qunari" looks better than the old one, you have shat on continuity. This is exactly what EA did when they "evolved" Tiberium without any explanation in the Command & Conquer games.

First! All you folks arguing about darn horns... HORNS! Sure, Sten didn't have any. They gave an explanation as to why not all of them have some.... not satisfying enough? I'm thinking the reason why sten looked like a huge human is basically because there was some limitations as to what the Origins engine could do... thus making us think he was just a tall bronze guy.
Those who bring up the sacred ashes trailer.... I won't even go there...
I for one am opposed to the dumbing down of the game.... changing artistic styles and not falling to the limitations of the old engines and improving upon the lore can be good. As long as you don't go overboard with your lore decisions like some games *cough* WoW *cough*.
As for continuity, get over it people.... looks change, the tech and budget gets better with time. Just go with it... we haven't seen any screenshots anyways!
