Also to say: I'm working on my newest one-shot! It's is currently titled "Mourn, Longing and Love." It's a continuation of "Lost Potential" so it does have some revisionist events. The story is actually snippets of Tali during the two years between ME1 and ME2. It begins where she returns to the Fleet and ends at Freedom's Progress.



Also since everyone is so interested in Rael, I'm also adding a segment in the story where Shala speaks to Rael about Tali. I think I'll hit the mark with this one.

My point goes along with this too, we don't know that the quarians hate the geth, and we don't know if they would forgive them.  There is no evidence that they wouldn't at least.  If the geth offered the homeworld back; a return to normal lives, no amount of hatred/stupidity is going to keep the quarians from accepting that.

One thing I've always wondered about when we discuss the quarians getting their world back via peaceful negotiations: a lot of times I see people mention the outcome of such negotiations is the agreement that the geth will simply give the quarians their homeworld back and walk away. I think that's an unknown among geth, the reasons why they stay. Remnant of their programming, maybe. They were designed to be workers, caretakers for their quarian masters. The quarians may be gone, but the geth's original purpose is still in the code. Also, I wonder if the destruction really does push into nuclear/chemical warfare where the geth have been working to clean up the environment that was put to waste during the war.

Or maybe they stay in the same way Legion grabs Shepard's armor. They are developing sentiment.

Anyway, so that's why I can be pessimistic even when discussing peaceful negotiations. How would the negotiations work if the geth said they would not resist the quarians' return to their homeworld, but they weren't going to leave the system either?

If the geth were working on a Jupiter Brain rather than a Dyson Sphere, I could see them simply disappearing without ever saying anything to the quarians or any other organic in the near future. A couple generations down the line and surveillance shows that there are not geth behind the Veil. Disappear. Gone. But no, they had to say it was analogous to a Dyson Sphere, not a Jupiter Brain.

Its a very good point actually.  I would assume that the reason that it isn't brought up often would be because it goes against the whole theory of the geth thinking logically and going with whatever the most logical solution is.  The reason for them to stay there would be closer to an emotional attachment than anything else.  Trading seclusion for a ball of ice and rock (or whatever Legion calls it,) is the logical thing to do, and is associated with them as AIs.

Rannoch being irradiated doesn't seem that likely, considering the geth obviously didn't make it worse after the quarians left, and the quarians have no idea that the geth are cleaning up the homeworld.  If Rannoch was a pile of fallout when the original quarians left, they wouldn't be looking to it as the solution.

That hypothetical is actually really interesting, and I'd say we don't have the info needed to say definitively.  I'm inclined to think that they would be ok with it, since they do need Rannoch after all, but it would be a lot harder to convince them, that's for sure.

A fun read, some spelling errors (what is "the prove") but overal enjoyable dawwwww material.  I liked how Garrus worked in his favorite word "calibrations" into a joke and how you tried to use different character's mannerisms of speaking (such as Joker saying: "Say Commander..." to start off a statement.)

That definitely made me like her more my first time through, plus the way she says that line is great.  I think that may have been where I decided for the first time that I was going to use her full time.  And the rest is history

My first reaction to ME Tali was "Oh, I like you." She blew that assassin up without even blinking. Like someone else said, I also liked the way she delivered the line "My name is Tali." I didn't like her quite so much after she got on the ship because her role was reduced to being a walking Codex entry, but I much prefer ME to ME2 Tali.
