What the ****?

That's not sad, it's creepy.

Kal left freeze-dried semen around so they can have kids?

What the ****?

Have  to  agree  with  you  there.  I  was  actually  feeling  for  the  guy...  until  he  was  all  Have  my  children  even  though  I'm  dead.  Then  again  I  guess  it  depends  on  how  you  view  it.

But damn, Reegar deserves a volley and salutations for that one. *Salute*

Speaking of Reegar...he does seem to have some emotions towards Tali. Am I the only one who thinks this way?

He's a marine. He shows respect for everyone, not just Tali.

Oh please.

Shipping Tali/Kal just because they're quarians on the same squad for all of five minutes is hardly proof of anything.

I say this as the resident shipper.

I don't even see her being considered to be honest.  She's skilled, but she's two years removed from her pilgrimage.  I got the feeling that the admirality was a lot more based on experience and prestige, which Tali doesn't really have a ton of.  The way she says it in game just makes me think that a friend or two said casually mentioned it, not that there was any official movement to have her elected/her name put forth.  Though I could be misremembering the last part.

I took Tali's name being thrown into the Admiralty Hat as really just one of those situations where every single name that pops into people's heads gets thrown out there for people to discuss. Like someone saying "who should play Shepard in a completely-hypothetical-not-going-to-be-made movie?" All sorts of actors names get tossed out there.

Why Tali? She'd be replacing Rael'Zorah. She also happens to be a Zorah. And his daughter to boot.

Since I didn't get Tali exiled, I always viewed that her future would continue with the Fleet someday and it could lead to Admiralty. Would she hate it? Probably. Captain Anderson didn't much like having the Normandy taken from him or working in diplomatic relations either, but he took the hit for the team. Until you can't take it anymore, then you create a political sh*tstorm and go be a goddamn hero.

But anyway, Tali can still be her own person while showing dedication and making sacrifices for the Fleet.

Good to see you CC. Thread's moving along at a modest pace. Jones and I are about 2/3rds of the way done with the next Reckoning Chapter, and all is well.

This is good news.

Tali Cuddles are the best Cuddles...

Anyone in the mood for D'awww?

Shepard woke up. The world felt hazy. Turning his head to look at the clock, he was instantly aware of a weight on his chest. Tali was curled up into a ball, one leg wrapped around his thighs, both arms holding onto him, and her entire front cuddled up to his side, her head resting on him just below the neck. Shepard couldn't help but suppress a drowzy grin. Lifting his head ever so slightly, Shepard peared over Tali's mask, checking the time. Two in the morning, Standard Citadel Time. Resting back against his pillow, Shepard felt Tali stirring in her sleep at the slight movement. She seemed to grip at Shepard even more tightly under the covers. Even in her sleep, her embrace was firm. Nuzzling her helmated head against his chest, Tali muttered in her sleep, the words coming out a slurred mess, heavy with accent and sleep.

"Don't go. Not again."

Shepard felt his gaze go soft. Gently, he wrapped an arm around Tali's shoulders, pulling her as close as possible without waking her. After a moment, her grip on him slackened a bit, her nuzzling even more against his steadily beating heart. Shepard smiled slightly as he rested his chin against the top of her helmet, the soft cloth of her hood smooth and cool to the touch. He wasn't going anywhere.

Shepard slowly drifted off to sleep, dreaming of neither prothean extinctions nor endless falling through space. His dreams were of feeling. A warmth in the heart that had no name, a feeling of complete and utter contentment that neither sight nor sound could adequately describe. It was a fire that was only felt, a weight in his arms that seemed to somehow fullful him. He was no longer empty, but whole.

You're not the only one that thinks that, but I'm inclined to side with Rune here.  I don't see anything more than professional courtesy between the two personally.

Oy.  You two... your maturity, or lack thereof, is showing.  All you see is freeze-dried spooge, and get all grossed out by it.

I say this as the resident shipper.

Shippers don't need even five minutes to produce a ship. Hell, the characters don't even have to be in the same science fiction setting.

I like the final exchange between Kal'Reegar and Tali. And yes, I could take that ball and run with it, but if I'm going to write anything about Tali, it's the one where I have her lead the secondary team into Prometheus Station during Overlord.

I say this as the nonresident antishipper.

True, true...

but I find his 'protocols' as his means of flirting with Tali <_<

When I first encounter Reegar in Haestrom, then Tali said to save him, I was thinking 'what is he, your boyfriend or something?'.

Then I see he's a goddamn tough Quarian marine with a missile launcher. And stubborn, too. So I save him.

Then there's the event in the Flotilla with all the trial and all. The tone in Reegar's voice when Tali corrected me gave me the thought that he has a thing for Tali...
...not anymore.

That's not the problem here.

Sperm banks and artificial insemination and whatnot is all well and good...

But Kal purposefully leaving his for Tali and Shepard to use to have kids in secret is just a little creepy, even assuming he has feelings for Tali.

Yeah, if I was going to go with artificial insemination so Tali and Shepard could have kids, I'd rather they be part of the discussion first.

I've wondered what it's going to take for me to kill Kal'Reegar. First time I did that battle, I didn't know he could die, so I let him at it with the missile launcher. He did fine. Then I learn he can die, but I figure "well, he didn't last time, so maybe he won't this time." I have never told the man to stand down once during that battle and he has lived every time.

Fine then.  Since everyone gets creeped out around here, it's history...  Considering some of the minifics I've seen here, the reaction to it is really surprising.   <_<

You know how it is with these things; if any two characters so much happen to be at the same room at the same time, there's a 115% chance they must be secretly in love.
Or so says the interenet.

If you personally like the fic, I don't see why you need to get rid of it. If you were looking for critiques of the fic, now you have them.

It was definately different.

At least it didn't involve hybrid children...
