I think those three straps on her chest acts like a bra.

Multipurpose straps for the win.

Damn, I really want that new shotgun for Tali. Better have a higher rate of fire than Evi, because then Tali can be even faster and more dangerous.

You're right, the rate of fire is really slow for a futuristic shotgun.  Even if they dropped the range some, the faster fire rate would equal it out.

I think the suit area around the chest must offer some kind of support, cause I´m not seeing quarians wearing underwear.

Shepard:....uh Tali your suit is...uh...clinging in a sensitive area...

Tali:...what do you mean shepard?

Shepard: i mean you're uh...'on display'

Tali:...what?

Jack: He means you got ******!...God!

Tali:.what?..oh Keelah...

Underwear? We have dismissed these claims.

I had thought the straps were to help support the hardpoints where she would store her weapons but it was pointed out that was not the case. They are definitely there to hold her suit firmly in place and most likely do act as a type of bra for support and compression.

It's a pack that is supposed to be relesed some time before the Shadow Broker DLC. At least from what I've heard.

To be honest, I just hex edit the ini file to improve her shotgun.  I've done enough 'normal' playthroughs to now just want to enjoy the scenery more. :)

Not me, though.

I'm keeping it real.

Mostly because I get tired of tweaking, or cheating if you will,  pretty fast. I've tried it in the past with other games. Was fun for a while, but at one point the game became so easy, and I wondered how it would be if I did a honest playthrough.

Did enough of the 'honest' playthroughs including insane.  Now I'm doing it for other enjoyments.  Of course each new DLC resets the INI so I can play it the way they intended it to be.  I don't cheat to win a game, no fun in that.

Hey fellow Tali-mancers. Been gone for about a month or so. Glad to see the world's sexiest shotgun-sporting space gypsy is still going strong.

And in all that time, I'm amazed that her appeal is still resonating so strongly with me. To say Bioware hit her development out of the park is a gross understatement. In all sense of the phrase, Tali is the complete package, sporting brains, talent, style, tenderness, strength, selflessness, and, even enough, looks. I just find it so refreshing still in this age of adolescence boob physics and scantily-clad, sexualized game icons that a character like Tali can not only exist but emerge as the predominate lady of the entire franchise. She undermines the obvious physical attractions of the more human-esque female leads like Ashley or Liara, bowls over a genetically perfected, artificially augmented supermodel like Miranda, and eclipses an entire race of hot lesbian blue-skinned alien women, all without so much as an inch of skin on display and all carried on the shoulders of her insurmountable charm, personality, and pitch-perfect character development.

I don't know if the clamor for her inclusion in ME3 as a front and center vital member of the squad is still ringing strong since my absence, but I'm going to assume that's still the case. It's a great sign of good scripting when a character such as Tali fully satisfies in every aspect of her presentation and yet leaves the player desperately wishing there was more content to explore with her by your side, specific to her and her alone.

Regardless, I'm sure stating that Tali was beyond well received, not just as a more fleshed out character but as an example of a strong yet vulnerable female lead, is old hat by now, but it hasn't gotten old with me yet. She can safely join the echelon of "ideal" game women alongside Alyx Vance, Samus Aran, and Chun-Li as practically presented yet universally beloved digital ladies. She exists to refute the assumption that gamers only care for a pretty face and serves proof positive that the strengths of attractive and alluring characters lie in the heart and soul of their personalities.

And we need much more of that, and of her.

I agree with this.
Personally i saw three distinict types of women in the three LI's.

1st was the cold hearted manipluator Miranda. This is the one that immedieatly turned me off. The cold manner in which she killed Wilson and the air of superiority that walks around with is just insulting. She obviously has no problems using all of her "upgrades" to get her way, which makes me sick because i see all to many women who are willing to do this in everyday life. Granted she does warm up later in the game but her first imperssion was just so cold and superficial that i didn't even want to bother with it. then there was the way that she treated jack in their confrontation Justifying something by saying it was a rouge facility is bull and it really showed how much humanity she really has; which is to say none.

2nd there is Jack. I had no problem with the Tattoos in fact they are kinda cool. With that being said the whole badass/i've been throught the worst crap in the world thing got on my nerves. Yeah everyone has their problems with their past and yes some are worse than others; however the true measure of a person is if they are able to deal with it and move on with their life. I do however apporve of how bioware developed this character and i am personally looking foward to seeing weather or now they do anything with her is ME3.

Finally that brings me to Tali. In ME1 there really wasn't much character development for her which disappointed me. In ME2 however her character developement was spot on. Really seeing just how caring, compassionate, loyal, and strong willed she is. She shows her loyality by willingly facing exile instead of smearing her father's memory by giving the evidence to the admirality board and clearing her name. Yet even with this happening she takes it in stride and keeps going taking the lessons she learned yet leaving the baggage behind. She is always thinking of everyone else and even admittis to Shepard that she doesn't want to be a distraction to him and put him in danger no matter how bad she want him. Even with all of this the one thing that really drew me in was the sense of innocence that I got from her character. That strong willed innocence that refuses to be changed despiste what a person has gone through. When all of this comes together you do get the "total package" which is rare to find in todays society.

Yes i know this is late but this thread really moves. Well that's what i get for my internet being down for two days. :D

That support must be in the suit itself, because if the straps have anything to do with it, I can only think of pain.

If the straps actually serve a purpose as far as physique goes, I'd go with something like a corset. Which is also something that only conjures up pain. But other than female Shepard, it would appear the galaxy is full of the amazingly perky and bouyant breasts of the future.

Well contributing to that, maybe people in the future have finally learned to eat better. Of course, I'm not complaining that it's a simple game limitation...

Miranda, Jack, and Tali are three types of personalities that I have seen in friends I have had throughout my life, which is probably why I see the benefits and drawbacks for each romance. Miranda is the sort of person who'd give me a bad first impression before she even opens her mouth. However, I'm not one to openly show dislike, so working relationships run smoothly. Those type of people usually end up liking me before I recipricate, but I have always been pleasantly surprised at what their outlook on life brings to my own. Their world seems so much less complicated on the surface, though that's not to say they don't feel their own pain. But it's not a dominating feature that they carry. Usually not the best of friends, but friends nonetheless.

People like Jack push, and I have to be in a particular mood to push back. It's all about finding that one connection, something that we both enjoy that gets the conversation flowing. I didn't think I'd like Jack based on her preview trailers before the game came out, because I felt Bioware was really pushing on her extreme badass attitude, which looked like it was geared for a renegade Shepard that I simply didn't play. But I was sold when her very first line was derogatory to Cerberus. I tend to project a lot of my own attitude into my own fill-in-the-blank background for Jack. The trick is simply knowing where to start. My Jack friends are the ones where there is no hiding the bull**** of who we really are.

Most of my friends have been like Tali. Nerds. I'm a nerd. We're nerds about different things, but we find solace in each other with our nerdness. Tali is who I'd consider a well adjusted nerd. I think she works very well with a wide range of people, that people don't focus on her nerd-like tendencies because she has a lot of other qualities that work well for her. She doesn't hide her opinions, but she's not looking to act unfriendly to anyone by default. She even tolerated an enemy like Legion until he outright betrayed the trust she had been willing to establish for Shepard's sake. In spite of Jacob's completely callous comment about EDI, I can even see their next interaction being neutral rather than cold. Tali's wrath is reserved for those who have demonstrated they absolutely do not deserve her respect.

When it comes to romance, I know my description of Tali tends toward the weaknesses rather than her strengths. This is simply a personal assessment of romance in general. Tali's romance is young love, first love. It's a honeymoon. I've had friends marry their childhood sweethearts and their relationship is still strong after all these years. My own relationship history didn't turn out that way, so that's why Tali's romance holds little appeal to me. I'm too jaded for it, I suppose.

Plus, I really did take a sisterly approach to her in ME1. That feeling never went away in ME2. I had another friend who hated being the sister and never the girlfriend to a pretty cool guy we knew. Such frustration to be had, and the dynamic between the two never changed. She moved on, at least.

I do think that space travel and colonization comes with it a healthier lifestyle by necessity. Still, age will claim the bouyant breasts eventually. Well, maybe the quarians have it better than the humans in that regard. But I'm not going to assume that, I don't need to start up reasons to have raging jealousy toward the womens of the Migrant Fleet. :P

Still, this has started me thinking about the actual lifestyle for those you live beyond one world. Made much easier that the technology seems to provide sufficient gravity, cutting out that obstacle. Hmm. Might go somewhere with this later.
