She can probably handle crowds and being alone for a while. Growing up on the flotilla probably got her accustomed to the large groups and being with Shepard on the Normandy gave her a taste of a spacious lifestyle.Pacifien wrote...
My own impression is that Tali appreciates solitude but does very well in a group. And she likes poker.

Because I view Tali as being rather agreeable with most people on the Normandy, I think she was a similar person while with the Fleet. I find it odd that Kasumi is the only squadmate who is consistently viewed as being nicely sociable, though. Every other character thread focuses on what sets the character apart, keeps them alone. Tali says that quarians treat each other as families, that they must be sociable to make up for their lack of contact. I think it was only until she was on the Normandy that she even learned to appreciate the benefits of solitude.
So does that now make her a solitary person? Does she not seek out companionship beyond a chosen few? Guess it's up to the player really. She might not talk about other people that have been in her life, but not many squadmates do. Talking about your best friend some elementary school probably is low on the writers' list of character details during the game.
My own impression is that Tali appreciates solitude but does very well in a group. And she likes poker.
I pretty much agree with this. Well spoken Pacifien.

Tali.
Anyone ever get the feeling she might not have been real close to anyone growing up...? Friends, I mean...?
I think there's a conversation where she tells you the difficulty she had growing up because of being the daughter of an admiral. Or am I getting my facts wrong?

I apologize for not having anything more to say about it, though. Can't tell yet if it engages me, enrages me, or leaves me cold. Never was very good with constructive criticism or praise.

Excellent work on Reckoning, lads. Interesting solution to the problem we discussed in length here, Rip. More thorough response will soon grace FF.net page.

And Pacifien, you don't have to leave an elaborate review or anything. Just letting us know you're interested speaks volumes. At any rate, thank you for reading.

No, your right. I think she say something about her being treated differently because she was an admirals daughter. When you go to the Migrant Fleet she doesnt really have any friends she talks to, besides kal'reegar that is.

I'd hazard a guess that a good part of her friends were from workplaces or from mission squads.

And for those of you who don't want to read Reckoning for fear of DEPRESSING TIME, remember that Grand Escapades will be updated tomorrow for more jollies in the world of tabletop roleplaying!

Yeah.... I do procrastinate. Badly.
Must be easier, having someone else on which to bounce ideas off of. Plus they keep you motivated...

It really has helped the project achieve it's potential.
I don't think either of us could have done as well without the other here.

Definately. Jones and I have had to reinforce one another on multiple occasions. We're both outside our comfort zones doing this, and having someone to keep you in line and to bounce ideas off of has been splendid. This wouldn't be half of what it is if we weren't both working together.

Your probably right, but she doesn't have any childhood friends on the rayya, so i would assume she didn't have many strong friendships in her childhood.
But seriously, Bioware could have just been being lazy, i generally try not to over analyse video game characters - not enough thought goes into planning their story and personality for everything that happens to match up.
