Yeah, Explorer is cool.
My problem with it is it's shield capacity stat.

Phoenix does look really good on Tali, which is a funny coincidence since its pretty much my least favorite armor for all other characters that can wear it.  Not sure why they made it red for Tali, but it does work.

I hate the "Talk to..." locations with a fiery passion.

You can only hear them once, and they can be interrupted by some idiotic NPCs.

I do love the new suit.  The skirt and the veil fastening on the front of her shoulder were very nice touches

Interesting.  I always imagined quarian ceremonies just being very plain and involving meaningful words, but something like that seems possible.  Maybe a little personal though to do in front of everyone, I'm not really sure what the average connotation of linking suits is to quarians.  That could be saved for later, or it could just be a sign of trust.

Well, I see it also used as the ring in a wedding, saying they're now together.

I read your entire story so far.  Although dark (especially chapter six), its a good read, and the hardships that Daro'Xen has endured so far are an understandable cause for the cold personality that she has in the game.
