Her face is already looking human. And I'm okay with it.

I've got two ideas, but I'll just post the one that is generally approved of.abatista wrote...
While were on the topic... what would Tali's hair look like?

I'd honestly rather Tali look like The Predator from AvP than a recolored human.
Here we go again...
We already know her features are humanlike, aside from the whole ear bull****.
I don't understand the problem here.

I agree, hair would distinguish them. The asari, turians, elcor, hanar, vorcha, and krogan - none of them have hair. The closest race that has the closest thing to hair (besides humans) is the batarians; they have a thin layer of very fine hair on their faces. I also want the quarians to have hair.

White considering the effects of being in total darkness most of the time, but i wouldn't pass off other colors being possible.

All we have to go on right now is a textureless blob with a nose and eyes. Even Thane still has a distinctly human looking nose but looks alien enough to not be uncomfortable to look at.

People just don't want another asari.
That's why they are going with the BS excuses.

they still have a lot of room to make Quarians more alien than the asari. just look at the drell - who themselves fit the "nose, lips, two eyes" deal that with the Quarians. We already know her features are humanlike, aside from the whole ear bull****.
Not really a problem, I just would like the series not to have an asari clone race.I don't understand the problem here.

We know the ears are different, but we also know that they have eyes, a nose, and a similar mouth, all arranged in a similar fashion as humans, with a similarly shaped face. We're running out of places to fit in these alien features. I don't see how an alien skin tone, some type of different ear, and maybe one other difference is enough to be unnerving.
I guess Vespaz' face is the main comparison. It's largely human, but fits a few alien features in. That's as much as I expect personally. Can't see anything like mandibles or a 3rd eye on their forhead happening.

that's just judging from the placeholder, which is just a placeholder.

iWouldBeOkWithThis.jpgher hair could also be purple or its compliment since the visor would
only filter a purple glow into her suit. Her hair would most likely
respond accordingly to that prospect.

So should we throw away the description in the novels as well even though they match what's revealed in the placeholder?

Nope, keep what is described in the novel but know that the placeholder is just a placeholder.Lividity Jones wrote...

Assuming they purposely put in a false placeholder to throw people off when they had the face done before ME2 was out seems a little farfetched to me.

So what?
Is that placeholder just another mask or something?
They can't just alter her face any way they want and say: "Durr...it's just a placeholder."

Not ALL of the Star Wars novels are canon, you know. Same applies here :V
Me, I saw a great example where the quarians had insectoid features like tiny mandibles. I'd be cool with that. Then again, I am an oddball.

So, by your logic, keeping the description from the novels would maintain the legitimacy of the placeholder.

animals that live in pitch black caves become clear or white because of the lack of light. I was merely assuming that the same could happen if the light was a single color, but it just guesses and possible reasons for those theories. really i hold no solid theories to the matter since i'd rather see what Bioware does with it.Calinstel wrote...
Why does hair color need to rely on light entering the visor?
