That brings up a very pertinent question.  Given that quarians must, at this point, spend so much of their lives in their suit, would their fashions out of the suit rebel against that? For example - given a place that she could reasonably expect to be out of her suit safely (say a consistently sterilized area she had adapted to), would she have a tendency to wear as little as possible? Would modesty be a factor, considering how form fitting (by necessity) her suit is?

IMO, she would be likely to want to wear as little as possible. Since quarians have no true fashions of their own, at this time, I could see Tali preferring to lounge in their shared cabin just in an oversized shirt. Loose fitting, since freedom of movement would be a key. Bare minimum for decency. Comfort over style.

Thoughts?

This got me to thinking, do you think its possible that the Protheans that survived the reaper attack could have influenced the evolution of organics accross the galaxy? Seems possible since most of the sentient species seem to have similar biological structures.

I don't want to explain this again...

No. The reason they all look alike, until stated otherwise, is convergent evolution. I remember the devs stating this explicitly. Hands are usefull for using Tools. Two eyes allow for depth perception. Two feet allow you to stand and use your hands at the same time. A mouth with teeth lets you chew food. These are useful anatomical structures. It makes sense that other species evolved to have similar structure to us. That they look as human as us, is debatable, but the theory is sound.

then explain the elcor and hanar. whats the deal with them? i understand what your getting at but if your looking at this on a galactic scale all species should be bipedal and..well you know humanlike.

Elcor's homeworld have huge gravity. Bipedals not suited for that.

Hanar's homeworld in over 90% water. No use for legs, since you don't need to walk.

But Hanar still have the ability to walk on dry land. Granted they are much more at home in water but they seem to be able to stand on dry land for extened periods of time. Why would they evolve to be able to do that if 90% of thier homeworld is ocean?

I agree, she would cherish being out of her suit, and would do as little to restrict that feeling as possible. But maybe she would also want to try other outfits simply because they are not her suit.... I think that she may have a crisis in fasion if she were able to come out of her suit on a regualr basis.

*DeLurk*

Just wanted to also agree on this.  The whole "More Open Clothing=What Tali wants to counteract suit wearing" just rings right with me.  I first saw the idea in RT7's story.  It makes sense.

The residents of the Citadel were used to seeing odd sights. As the hub of the majority of the Galaxy, very little was seen as odd. Today, however, more than a few residents raised their eyes at the pair walking through the wards.

In his most basic N7 armor, Commander Shepard walked through the wards. Though relatively peaceful, he always went out in armor; it never paid to be unprepared. At least he had left his sniper rifle and heavy weapon this time. He just wished he had brought one of his helmets, to be less recognizable. No such luck.

Glancing over at his companion, he activates his communicator. "Tali, is it really necessary for me to have the drone with me?"

Before Tali responds, the drone floats over towards him and lets out a very brief spark. Almost as if it is insulted. He glared at the drone, but his mouth formed an unconscious smile when he heard Tali pick up. Until he heard what she said.

"Be nice John! I think you hurt her feelings."

He shook his head. "Do you really think..."He paused, perplexed. "Wait, she?!"

He could hear Tali laughing. "Of course it's a she. You don't think I'd travel around the galaxy with a boy as a companion, do you?" Her voice dropped slightly, becoming more coy. "That's your job, John."

"It better be," he muttered. He couldn't help smiling when Tali giggled over his communicator. His smile fell again when he realized that Tali had hacked his suits audio, again.

"Who's a good Chiktikka? Who's a good girl?" Tali's voice called out from within Shepard's suit. The drone flashed brightly a couple of times. "Be good for Daddy!"

Locking back down his suit, he said with exasperation, "We could just get a dog or a cat like other couples, you know."

There was a pause. Finally, Tali responded with, "I won't have a reaction to Chiktikka, Shepard."

The savior of the citadel slapped his forehead in frustration. "Right. Forget I said that." He turned to the drone.

"Ok Chiktikka, let's go," he said conversationally. In a stage whisper, he continued, "I need to go buy your mom a present." Chiktikka vas Paus just followed, a slight hum coming from it as it traveled next to Shepard.

Excuse me.

I now feel the need to bang mye head against a wall.

ALL life is based on evolution. It would be the same on another planet, unless the life there was so utterly different and far removed from ours, but at that point, I'd be hard pressed to even call it life.

New topic. Before I get a migraine.

If the Hanar are to be believed, their ascension to space had its basis in the Protheans. Either the Protheans purposely manipulating their evolution or the Hanar finding Prothean ruins in the seas that allowed for their technology to progress to space-faring levels. Would they have set their sights toward space without the Protheans, considering how ill-suited they were outside of water?

Well, then again, humans are ill-suited for water and space, but they still try.

Actually, a Hanar spaceship would be interesting to see. Wonder if gravity is an issue.

---------------------
Trust and Promises
Excerpt
---------------------

Walking in to the cabin, Shepard was pleased to see that all of the Cerberus symbols and colorings were removed.  Finally free of those reminders, he thought to himself.

He quickly got out of his armor.  Before he got into the new uniform, however, he took it into the loft's bathroom.  He walked out of the room, and turned to EDI's station once he door shut.

"EDI,  sterilize the bathroom please."

"Acknowledged Commander.  Decontamination in Progress."

Once the process was finished, Shepard reentered the bathroom and got showered and changed.  Now in the new uniform, he turned to his lockers.  OK, everything except the suit Kasumi got me has to go.  Not going to wear any of this again.

As he was emptying out his Cerberus issue clothing, Miranda announced the away team meeting over the comms.  She also added that there was a mandatory staff meeting for non-away team members shortly before.  He found himself agreeing with her command decision as he worked.

"What's the meeting for?"  He heard Tali ask as she entered their room.  She stopped when she saw him tossing his clothing in bags.  "What are you doing?"

He smiled.  "Hey Tali," Shepard answered her.  "I'm tossing all of these Cerberus rags."  He stood and gestured to the new uniform.  "Got something better to wear."

She came over to him and looked him over.  She put a hand on the symbol on his shoulder, faintly tracing it.  Tali smiled, it reaching her eyes.

"So this is going to be our new symbol?"  She asked him.

Shepard nodded.  "Yes indeed," he said with a grin.  "Miranda and I came up with it."  He looked over at her hand where she was tracing the quarian and geth symbols.  "I wanted it to be perfectly clear that I am doing what I hope is in the best interest of everyone, not just one or two groups."

"And that we should all be getting along?"  Tali asked playfully.

"Absolutely," he agreed, reaching up to take her hand. "We're all equally important and deserve a chance at happiness."

She squeezed his hand.  "You're right," she said with a nod.  Her eyes looked mischievous as she asked, "So where's mine?"

"Well," he began with a smile, "since I don't think you'd want to wear one of my uniforms out and about."  He laughed as she smacked him.  He then held out the arm band and the patch.

"I didn't know which would work better for you."

Tali reached for the arm band.    She looked it over.  It was essentially the same as the one on Shepard's shirt.  However, the  actual band itself was designed to look just like the whorled cloth on her suit.  The shield itself was purple instead of blue, and the symbols where white.  It would match her suit perfectly.

She let out a hum of approval, then slipped it up her right arm to rest just under the shield generators on her upper arm.  She adjusted it until it was resting correctly.  Finished, she showed it to Shepard, then needed to the fish tank to look at her reflection.

Shepard walked up behind her and embraced her from behind.  He held her as they both looked at their reflection in the tank.  He kissed the side of her helmet and hugged her close.  Tali lifted the arm without the band and rested her hand on his neck.  Her other arm rested on the arms wrapped around her midriff.

"It looks good on you Miss Vas Normandy," he said warmly.

The engineer leaned back into his embrace.  "It's nice to have our ship's symbol on my suit, Captain," she said said with approval.

"As long as it makes you happy Tali," he said as he held her.

"Almost as much as being with you," she whispered.  "I love you John."

Shepard smiled,  He gently turned her around in his embrace.  He brought a hand up and kissed his fingers, then brought them to her mask.  "I love you  too Tali."

She cuddled into him, content.

Well We are livign in a mutlirace galaxy now, Turian share the same DNa clarity. So to meet market demands I'm any given classy resturant will be surving for both DNA types. So it would be that hard to find her food.

I don't think it would be that difficult. Quarians can eat turian food, provided it's sterilized.
