Kasumi's a thief though. Thievery takes an amount of "renegade" or immorality.

Kasumi is a thief. But I think she only steals stuff that she knows will challenge her, so I don't see her running off with a bunch of poor people's stuff.

Poor people don't have stuff to take.

I stay the hell away from fantasy epics that have no foreseeable end.

Wise move.

They are extremely well written novels, though. I'd go so far as to suggest reading the first book, then tossing it aside and pretending he never intended to write what comes next.

Tali's renegade edge was especially nice when you had boy scout Kaidan and 100% innocent and pure Liara in ME1. In ME2, interestingly, I like that she is the more "paragon" of the squad yet still has that "renegadeness."

I did, actually.  The ending was WTF enough that I had no desire to continue.

This is one of the reasons I respect David Drake.  He actually finished his epic fantasy series.

And now your getting it.

There is a difference between making a hard call, and wanting to enslave a bunch of races simply because you think yours is better.

Go crawl back into your hole and die, you Cerberus lapdog, you.

I see no problem with shouldering a responsibility (leading the galaxy) that humanity is best suited for.

Liara puts it best when she remarks that humanity's drive for improvement scares the other races.  They see what we are skilled in, and they fear it.

Wanting to be lead the galxy into prosperity and triumph against the reapers is one thing the more I learn about TIM and cerberus (reading retribution now) the more they remind me of the worst aspects of the imperial inquisition, exterminatus now ask questions later...if we feel like it.Posted Image
Hell there are Space Marine chapters with more sense and compasion than that, and anyone who knows 40k knows thats saying something.

Tell that to the Slavers.

not until after I beat ME1 for the 3rd time

You'd think that would have raised a giant red flag, but nooooo...

Granted, C-Sec wouldn't know a geth if it came up to them and introduced itself as a geth.

....oh, wait....

Does not signify.  We're talking about a thief, not a slaver.

Almost everyone you recruit in Mass Effect 2 qualifies as renegade. Some are just more overt about it than others.

Yea, I thought the Saren apperance was strange as well. Somehow Nihlus didn't notice it either.

Ha.

I just had a funny thought. What if EA went bankrupt suddenly due to the economy and ME3 got put into development hell and eventually died a painful death like Duke Nukem Forever?

Tears would flow everywhere.

I assume everyone here has seen these two videos as they've become somewhat iconic of ME1 and ME2, but if you haven't...sixteen minutes of hilarity.

C-Sec:  Get that heap of metal out of the way, we need to deal with those asari-looking geth infiltrators and some quarian vagrants.

Or another example:

A Song of Ice and Fire

Best epic fantasy series out there.  Period.  Unfortunatly, the author is taking forever to get the next book out.  Even after he had to split it in two due to length...

Never read it, but am an avid reader, and might have to give it a try. Is it Sci-Fi?

It is not.  Medieval-ish.

-Elves
+Lost of Feudal Backroom Fighting (And a full on war soon after)

It's getting an HBO series.

Sounds good. I'll check it out. I like medieval, but sci-fi is still my favorite. Guess that's why I love ME. It's like LOTR in space, and who doesn't love that?

It has always seemed to me that Tali is the most Paragon of all. Her only prejudices seem to be against the geth, but aside from that, she is a total Care Bear.

Tali has always had a broad Renegade streak in her. I think I noticed it when she suggested I kill all the indoctronated salarians on Virmire. When I went through the place again with my canon FemShep, Liara and Garrus wouldn't even have it. Food for thought.

I'm also one of those people who honestly wasn't suprised with Liara's development in Mass Effect 2. You know, since they kinda telegraphed it in Mass Effect 1.

Liara: I'm nothing like my mother!
Ashley: Uh-huh.
Garrus: Sure. Right.
Shepard: I agree with you two, but play nice to the lady who's going to start screwing around with my skull.

Two Years Later

Liara:
Have you ever faced an asari commando unit? Few humans have...
Garrus: *smirking* What'd I tell ya?
Tali: *flat* Wow.
Shepard: *facepalm* Jesus Maria.

*Multiple choice dialog!*
Ex-Liaramancer Shepard: You know, I would've thought I could tell the difference between good and evil once it comes into contact with my genitals. I'm really more disappointed with myself than anything.
Garrus: A bit too much information, there.
Tali: Go on...

Non-Liaramancer Shepard: Whew. Dodged a bullet there.
Tali: Didn't Kaidan have the hots for her? I wonder if he would've had to put up with that.
Garrus: Spirits, I hope not.

Liara: *gasp!* Shepard!
Tali and Garrus: We're here too...
*scene continues*

I'd be okay.  That would mean that whatever my personal belief was could be canon.

I liked Samara's character in terms of concept, even though I never use her. It's like Paragon to an ultimate extreme and fault.
