you guys are overthinking this waaaay too much. humans can literally digest almost anything you swallow. regardless of whether it is dextro-protein based or not. thats why we (on earth) are on top of the food chain adaptability

Just because we can shove it in our mouths doesn't mean we can process it.

Anyway, it's science. I like science.

im talking about, can we digest it and pass it?
yes

Try digesting and passing a bottle of cyanide. See if your body takes to it well.

I'm going to go for a while. This thread is giving me a headache.

Yeah, even though I am one of the contributers, I think this topic has gone on long enough. We need something new to talk about.

Suggestions?

But I'm allergic to peanuts.

look it doesnt matter what the food is
the point im trying to make is
ˆwe can digest it and pass it regardless of whether there is an acute allergic reaction or not

not really, try eatting lots of grass or hay and poop then you'll see you really have digested much at all. :P  WE don't have the stomach for grazing like most anamals adapted for grass eating.

She'd have to use both hands....Image IPB

But then it would have two heads.

Read a medical journal. Look up Allergic reactions.

They would. How your immune system reacts to material that can't be processed, however...

Any, provided they don't have a reaction to it.

Okay, I started out from a different aspect - in this case, toxicity.  I note the following:

"Biological systems are chiral entities. Humans are primarily
composed of L-amino acids and D-carbohydrates. Protein
secondary structure includes right-handed (P-) coiled alpha
helices, and most DNA is similarly in a right-handed spiral
configuration"

toxsci.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/110/1/4
TOXICOLOGICAL SCIENCES 110(1), 4–30 (2009)OK, first of all, it sounds as if humans consume substances of both chiralities,
clearly with no ill effects.  So if there are adverse effects by opposite chirality foods,
then the mix of components would be complex - seemingly too complex to risk,
correct?

Hmm. . . .
What kind of literature do you think Tali would read? Historical novels, fantasies, mysteries, etc?

Historical archives are something I think she would enjoy much. Learning about other cultures seems like it would be something gratifying for her.

History. Sci-fi. Fantasy. Romance. Thrillers. Techno-thrillers might be a personal favorite, if they're done like Hunt for Red October, but with space ships. I bet she'd like that.

Indeed, she seems to enjoy culture. That would also lead to her being interested in pretty much all forms of media a race would generate.

Well, technically you are being watched. Hey, it's not paranoia if everyone really IS out to get you. ;)

Print media is a dying art. Tali looks at holovid documentaries and the latest schematics of various spaceships.

She seems like the type who would keep the news on her omn-tool, that kind of thing.

I suddenly have the image of her watching the news at a terminal in her room on the Neema... waiting for news about the efforts to recover Shepard's body...

I feel depressed now...

Thank you sir you are a life saver... all the  all about biology was getting  tiresome we have beat that horse to Death, hell and back again.

Well from what little we know from Tali comments and from the Asari on Noveria that had the lover that study Quarians before the fall.  Not only  where the technological advanced but  it seems a great deal of art and music.
Music and Dance being two the major mediums, even  Tali says that Dancers are revered in a her culture.

Can someone please write this? And the title needs to be 'Hunt for Red October, But with Space Ships'.
