I didn't really like the ME1 crew, so I stayed a virgin through that game on my first run. My FemShep went through both games without romancing anyone...perhaps in ME3 she'll give in.
Not sure what to do with my second male Shepard, which I'm working on right now...might just romance Tali again, if anyone. Jack is too goddamn insane, and Miranda is Cerberus, so it's pretty much Tali or no one.

Edit: Imma just make this my signature top post image, K?

Yeah, no ****.

****ing infuriating as hell...

I assume this is a writing woe to you?

Well... I did have to write an entire fic in an attempt to personalize my interpretation of Shepard and strengthen his relationship with Tali...

Whether or not that is a woe is the question.

Still, some in-game characterization would be gold.

That would be one very special edition.  I mean, there can't be that big a market, right?

And, um, where do we get copies of that booklet exactly?
Um, I'm not asking for me, it's. . . uh. . .it's for a friend.

Well, it does include "Valuable Diagrams".

Must be worth its weight in gold.

You're fussy tonight.  It's in the game, man.

I came back from a camping trip, to explain my abscence. And I... missed a good oppurtunity. I told myself it was not a big deal, but I can not help but feel unfulfilled.

I'm actually okay with it.  Lets me decide just what his past was.

I'm not. Shepard needs to be made into a more compelling character.

We all want one.

There's definitely a market. Remember, Fornax magazine is a human published operation.

Though, I like to think both Mordin Solus and Helen Chakwas are contributing writers from time to time.

Well, as pr0n, sure.  But there's only 17 million quarians out there.  Such a book couldn't get that much practical use.

I'me actually fine with it. The game presents an obvious history and characterization, I can fill in personality and interpretation as how I want it.

Though I wouldn't complain if we did get a thorough character analysis of Shepard, one that is actually presented and demonstrated.

He's as compelling as the player makes him is my usual perspective.  But then, I've been playing this kind of stuff since before console/computer RPG characters HAD backstories.

My main issue is that we don't get to properly flesh out Shepard in the game itself. I like that in Dragon Age party members would actually ask for your opinions on things. We get a bit of that with Jacob but I want moar. I want Shepard to be able to have problems, and failings. I love for Tali to ask how Shepard is, and he can respond in different ways.

Sorry to hear that Azint.
I know it's easier said than done, but try not to let it get you down too much.
Maybe it'll turn out for the best?

Think of it like copies of Manifold Destiny or The Anarchist's Cookbook. The market isn't that visible, but when people need it, they'll damn straight find it.

I still want a copy of Manifold Destiny. :crying:

This, for ****'s sake!

Dragon Age did it so well!

I see no reason it can't happen here.

I do like when the characters ask me questions.  Like Tali could ask what I think of our relationship.

Never thought Shepard wasn't fleshed out enough, but now that you mention it...it IS always Shepard asking how folks are doing, and not the other way around.

That's a valid defense, but so is the fact that many play these games specifically so they can roleplay within someone elses' universe. I can technically think up my own universe and make my own characters there, but there is some amount of fun instead with roleplaying in someone elses' creation. I found that there weren't enough nuances to the Shepard character - or that we weren't able to apply enough nuances that the game would actually recognize.

This sort of thing is actually the theme of my "serious" ff series.  The very first thing I wrote for ME2 began like this:

“You never talk about yourself, Shepard.”
