I can just imagine readers of Fornax usually skipping over the dry medical humor in columns by Dr. Hacksaw/Dr. Serrice/Helen of Arcturus and then being shocked when all of the sudden her next column after a strange absence is an in-depth medical assessment of a post-unprotected coitus quarian.

Shepard: *thumbs through Fornax* Damn. She hasn't had an article this good in two years...
*pause*
Shepard: Wait...

Then he hurriedly tries to round up all the copies on board...

Yeah, that's gonna go well.

Main Battery

Shepard: Hey Garrus, I need your copy of Fornax.
Garrus: Sure, but what's this all-
Shepard: Don't question this.
Garrus: Sure, whatever you say, Commander.
*Garrus reaches under his cot and gives Shepard his copy of Fornax.*
Shepard: Thanks!
*Before Garrus can respond, Shepard runs off to his next destination. Garrus shakes his head as the door closes and reaches under the calibration terminal, revealing another copy of this month's issue of Fornax.*
Garrus: Always be prepared.
*Garrus licks a talon and turns a page, looking for his favorite article.*

cockpit

Shepard: Hey Joker, I need your copy of-
Joker: I'm gonna stop you right there, Commander. See, I haven't purchased an issue of Fornax in -like- fifteen years. Not when you can download it for free.
Shepard: How did you-
EDI: I can read much faster than Jeff can. Giving him the highlights of the months issue is one of the few things we do together not related to my body.
*pause*
EDI: The ship. I meant my ship. The ship.
Joker: Riiiiiiiiiight.
Shepard: I should go.

Cargo Bay

Shepard: Hey Zaeed, I need to your copy of Fornax.
Zaeed: ****** off, jackass.
*Shepard briefly considers making a big issue out of this. In the end, he figures, crushing Zaeed into the garbage compactor and spacing him would raise more questions than it would put to rest.*
Shepard: Right. See you around, Zaeed.

Anyone nostalgic for the ME1 inventory should be forced to clear 350 useless assault rifles from that stupid thing as reeducation.

Edit:  And anyone nostalgic for the Mako should be forced to drive from one end of the map to the other while they really have to go to the bathroom.  Christ, but the "dash" button for the Hammerhead was a godsend.

Shepard: You want I just realized?

Tali:
What?

Shepard:
Before I died I had, like, 999,999,999 credits in my name from all of the crap we found and sold. What the hell happened to all of it?

Tali:
Uhh. . .

*flashback to two years ago inside of a casino*

Tali: One billion credits on black!

*roulette wheel spins and comes to a stop*

Dealer: Red. The house wins.

*back on the Normandy, two years later*

Tali: We may never know. . .

I would rather have further character development over driving across randomly generated terrain.

I read that as "driving across randomly generated turians."

Possibly because that was my main mode of attack with the Mako.

My plan of attack when it came to geth was to simply ram them into the nearest lava pit. When there was no such enviromental hazard around, I simply parked the Mako on top of them, jumped out and shot them.

There's some novelty to owning a vehicle that can travel up verticle surfaces.

Long range cannon, supplemented by the HMG during reload.

Wipes out everything.

Guard 1: How will we know what vehicle will be Shepard's?

Guard 2:  Look for the one with all the mandibles stuck in the front grille.

Garrus:  Okay, here's the layout of the slaver base.  Those sniper towers are going to be tough to crack...  Shepard?

*moments later the Mako goes flying over a hill and slams into the side of the guard tower, sending it toppling over.*

The Mako was certainly hilarious. I never saw any mountain as impassible.

Two in the morning, eh.

Damn, in a month I'm not going to be able to show up for three hours straight anymore. Better savor the wasted time while it's still around.

Prosper, gentlemen.

Squadmate: Shepard, wouldn't it be better if we drove around?

Shepard: No, NO! We're going up that mountain!

While I'm in the Hammerhead, I can just hover outside the enemies' weapon range, put some tape over the fire button and go make a sandwich while it's shooting a couple of hundred missles necessary to kill one Colossus.

Does Tali=Bad Driving arise from her being female?

....or her three fingers?

....or because she is lacking peripheral vision?

....or because she has never needed to drive on land, cuz she was always on starships?

Indeed. This year will be suicidal...might need to drop out of one or two of the more difficult elements in my lineup here. Signed up for them fully expecting to drop out of at least one thing, we'll see if that turns out to be necessary.

Anyway...ought to still have some time on weekends.
