Here's an on-topic discussion about the upcoming Shadow Broker DLC which ties heavily with some of Tali's initial reasons for being here. After all she was to sell her McGuffin device to Fist before Shepard turned up and saved her (though I half suspect she'd of been fine without help).
I ask if you think Tali asked to see the Shadow Broker in person because of ignorance to who he is or because she's done deals before given the Shadow Broker isn't exactly an unknown figure...maybe to Quarians I'm not sure. What makes me more curious is if they are more in contact with this guy now than ever.
Thoughts?

Sure - but then we notice that crows make and use tools.
This is the fundamental problem with the Geth, and why the Quarians (and we) could
not discern the critical point when awareness occurs. The simple incremental improvement
that adds just a touch more capability might make the difference.
I guess I can see humans doing much the same thing the Quarians did - although its unlikely we'll see the dire consequences.

Bringing him to her recruitment mission is so much better. Even if it makes Shepard look like a moron.

Bringing Legion to Tali's loyalty mission leaves a lot to be desired. They probably would have made it better if they could, but it is just a cool little thing you can do for some extra dialog.

Yeah, she would've definitely be fine without our help the first time around, but I don't think Saren would leave it at just one assasination attempt. (Heck, this already was the second)DreadvasNormandy wrote...

Actually, I never really got why people got that "damsel in distress" vibe from Tali, considering the first time you meet her, she's already succesfully averted an assasination attempt, and is going all ninja on the asses of her next would-be assailants.
On Freedom's Progress YOU are the one who messed things up, if it weren't for the fact that Prazza and a considerable part of the rest of her team didn't trust Cerberus and relieved her from command because of the fact that she intended on working with them, she could've probably pulled it off with considerably less losses. (As Prazza decided to "rush in", ignoring all safety just to get Veetor before you do)
Okay, on Haestrom, she definitely needs your help, though this is mainly because her squad was a recon team and didn't have the proper gear or numbers to deal with such a large geth force. (Not to mention, her squad is utterly incompetent; seriously, Kal has a rocketlauncher with infinite ammo, yet he can't save Tali on his own?) And even then, her "workplace" is pretty much littered with destroyed geth platforms of all shapes and sizes. (Including a Prime)
Well, the quarians definitely don't mind shady deals, as indicated by her comments on Noveria (no, not the "And I'm still freezing." one, the one where she mentions they deal fairly often with the people there, as they offer a lot and don't ask many questions).I ask if you think Tali asked to see the Shadow Broker in person because of ignorance to who he is or because she's done deals before given the Shadow Broker isn't exactly an unknown figure...maybe to Quarians I'm not sure. Whether they deal with the Shadow Broker, I'm not sure, they don't really seem to be in dire need of information, nor would they be willing, or able, to pay such large ammounts for it.
Though I can certainly imagine a couple of quarians on their pilgrimage saved up a lot of money to buy geth data, or information implicating the quarians otherwise.

Shep: No time. Pack your things. We have to save my crew.
Tali: And why do you have a geth with you?
Shep: NO TIME TO EXPLAIN!
Tali: But- *is knocked unconsious*
Shep: Zaeed!
Zaeed: We need to go be big god damn heroes, we can't answer all her questions.

You mean, like the ones discussed here?

I guess that's one reason I have considerable sympathy for the Quarians. I really see us following a similar path. I don't expect our machines to turn on us (of course, neither did they!), but we are becoming very, very dependent.

Zaeed would be that mediocre guy that has tons of souvenirs on his desk, until you find out he had to pry each and every one of them out of some dead guy's hands.mrsph wrote...
