The one moonsoontides posted was within Drew's description. The Night Elf is not only too human looking IMO, it does not really fit Drew's description.General Ashous wrote...
Perhaps a cross between the drell, turians and humans would be a nice look. I do quite like the photoshopped night elf idea and agree it is a bit cartoonish but I think we need to keep with Drew's (vague) description.

The quarians already have plenty of alien features, the body structure's fairly different and they've got -glowing- (might be tapedum lucidum) eyes.Collider wrote...
The Asari already fill the role of space elves. Quarians should look as alien as the drell, IMO.
All they'd need to do is give them a slightly unnatural skin colour or complexion, but keep the face human-like, possibly even implementing hair, and they'd be fine.

That was my problem with it (the cartoonish-ness,) I couldn't care less about ears personally. The eyes really bother me on any concept where they aren't right.
Same here. I really don't like golf ball eyes. And it's just her iris that's "glowing", right?

Let's not act like Drew's description means anything at all. It was clearly written specifically to not disclose any real information. There isn't any realistic concept that doesn't fit the lips/teeth/some kind of ear model.

I disagree. It would be very jarring to see such a human face on an alien body. It is of course a matter of opinion. but I always felt that the Asari were immersion breaking in how human they looked and I do not want another asari clone race.Thundertactics wrote...

The only facial description he gave us was when Hilo's face was torn apart.

True, but an elf ear isn't a human ear. Or at least, isn't by all peoples' accounts, so the description doesn't even rule that out.

indeed, I guess they work really hard to make it right.mrsph wrote...
You can't just stick a human face on a quarian's body. It will simply not work without being too creepy. They are going to have to do something to "alienify" it.

That assumes that quarians work like some human beings. Turning pale without sun isn't even true across all of humanity, let alone across alien races.

It's the "what passes" part. That again implies that their ears may not be easily recognizable as similar to human ears. And elf ears are pretty damn similar.Phil725 wrote...

Uh, I hope not. Again, I think the Drell level of "alienness" is great.. I don't want them to be so similar to the Asari - we don't need a clone of them. The Drell fit the description in the books.General Ashous wrote...
Fair play Collider. However, Bioware needs to create something similar to humans and Asari, perhaps an asari face with human hair?

If they're going the elf-looking ear, that's a sign of laziness if yoou ask me. Just because it's not exactly human, doesn't mean it has to be pointy ears. Be creative.

Regardless of what it implies, it doesn't exactly rule anything out which is what my point was. The whole description is fluff.
