It's the "what passes" part. That again implies that their ears may not be easily recognizable as similar to human ears. And elf ears are pretty damn similar.

If they're going the elf-looking ear, that's a sign of laziness if yoou ask me. Just because it's not exactly human, doesn't mean it has to be pointy ears. Be creative.

I agree, it's unoriginal.

Indeed, the Tali love must be kept strong. I'm starting to see where Collider is going with with the drell resembelance but it needs to be unique to the Quarians.

Elf ears would quite possibly be the dumbest thing they can do with Tali. Because I hate the "QUARIANS ARE SPACE-ELVES!" thing with a passion.

Fair play Collider. However, Bioware needs to create something similar to humans and Asari, perhaps an asari face with human hair?

Uh, I hope not. Again, I think the Drell level of "alienness" is great.. I don't want them to be so similar to the Asari - we don't need a clone of them. The Drell fit the description in the books.

I like the idea of Quarians being almost exactly like humans besides for dextro dna and hands shins and feet.. because i think a convergent evolution race would be cool and remeber the bachelor party on Illium? how the turian and human and salarian were arguing about how asari look it realy could be a mind game they are playing (if they evolved from cephalopod like animals it could be an advanced form of camoflauge) they could not look human at all for all we know!

Yeah, the elf ear idea is really unoriginal. Bioware has to come up with something similar to ears but not actual ears perhaps?

I never understood that whole stereotype anyway.  Asari fill the stereotypical elf roll regardless of whether quarians have pointy ears or not.  Just seems like people will automatically link anything with pointy ears as elves, regardless of the rest of the package.

Yeah, but Asari do fit in human armor.

Yeah. I don't like how they are kind of avoiding it with all the other aliens. Time to grow some balls and do something out of the ordinary, yet something that is not the elf ear.

Everytime I bring up that asari are the closest things to elves I get called stupid :(

I also like to think that quarians are closer to dwarves if we're going to compare them to fantasy races.

perhaps like Macaques? If we could see what type of creature they evolved from could clear stuff up slightly Posted Image or maybe compared it to an earth creature..

The Volus seem closer to dwarves than the Quarians.

Personally, I don't mind the quarians having human faces since they're already sufficiently alien in my mind.  And Bioware has made it clear that the human face shape is the norm in the galaxy.

I don't buy the asari shape shifting thing though.  We know they are at least human shaped, since they wear human armor just fine.  The bachelor party, I just interpreted that as each race seeing what they want in the asari.  For example:

Turian:  Look at that head fringe, hot.

Human:  Yeah, I see it, seems kind of like a hair analogue...  Oh look, breasts :o

Each race just sees what they find attractive, and ignore what they don't care about.  Now, how asari evolved to be attractive to every race is a little more questionable.

The bachelor party was just a bunch of dudes discussing their idiotic reasons on why they think asari are attractive to their species.

Hey has anyone heard of a alternate appearance pack in the pipes for Tali? I found this but it is for Miranda (don't care except it leads to the possibility of another AAP)

Any thoughts/knowlege?

Tali has both breasts and a navel. She beats the asari on that front alone. Heh. Front...

Have to admit, Miranda's suit isn't half bad.

Tali getting a new suit?

Hell. It's about time.

I want Tali to have an updated colossus esque look in her possible alternate appearance.
