Since I didn't get her exiled, I think Tali's future will always be with the Fleet. There are the good times with Shepard as they work together on the Reaper threat, maybe good times beyond that, but she will always return home. Probably doesn't help matters that I always play Shepard as burning bright, dying young.

Yes. I loved it. It really made Mercutio an exciting and humorous character.
Ah, now I know which one you're talking about. Saw that on TV once and enjoyed it.
Never really cared much for Shakespeare, and it's not a film I'd go out of my way to watch again, but it was something that I glad I saw at least once.

I'd also like to express support for Romeo and Juliet. Though I think the modern version w/ Clair Danes is probably the best showing of it I've seen.
Then again, I like stories that are twisted around.
And here I was, just about to recommend The Count of Monte Cristo...NuclearBuddha wrote...
See! It's infectious! Anyway, I think the more modern update might be more appropriate for movie night on the Normandy. Since let's face it, the quarians have spent 2000 years as a spacefaring culture already.

Rip I agree with you some of the best stories are with out happy endings.(Has the sudden urge to watch House of the Flying Daggers). What I'm saying is this, Shepherd live in universe that at times is really ugly and the watching something that she has and could possible live through again could put in pits as well. Movies are also about getting away even if its just for 2 hours from the ugly realities thats all I am saying. She may very well enjoy something with a happy ending where the lover ride off into the sunset as well as that are thought provoking.
Now I will be back shortly i'm going to load House of the Flying Daggers into PS3 and watch it.
*Spoiler alert*
Just because at the end the girl dies to keep both guys from killing each other.
Having completed Tali's loyalty mission the other night, there is clearly a cafeteria on the Alarei.NuclearBuddha wrote...
Anyway, Ascension suggests that food might be more common than we usually think, since it describes cooking materials in quarian living cubicles.

There will be a time for settling down, but not for a long time. Business is always present, and I am a busy person.
That movie is awesome and you should feel awesome. I think Tali could appreciate the girl-against-the-world message.cannedcream wrote...
Could always show her something like 'Run Lola Run', then she could just pick her ending; death, death, or not-death.
This is true. It would stand to reason that in the relatively serile enviroments of the fleet, they have the ability to cook and carry about a "normal" existence. Albeit, they would have to use a blender or something to put it in tubes to eat it but it could be prepared relatively fresh.Azint wrote...

Tali, anyone?

I actually would believe Tali would find Romeo and Juliet to be a very fascinating story that she may even enjoy. Tali is not strictly analytical sort, I seriously doubt she would look at a story and dissect it to try and find what it means to her, I think she would be more attentive to what the story itself is; a tragic romance. If you actually believe Romeo and Juliet was ever a story of idealistic romance, then you are naive. The story was meant to be dark, it was meant to ground such a wild fantasy in realism. It was a light, fluffy story that takes a grim turn, and crushes what was apparent to be fate.RiptideX1090 wrote...
I may have written a thing or two on it. Romeo was an idiot. Juliet was a ****, and both families were utter idiots who hated eachother for no discernable reason. How this play became as popular as it did is beyond me. The plot is like something of a bad Romance Drama film. Definately not the kind of thing I can see Tali enjoying. She seems more sophisticated than that. I bet she'd love a movie like Titanic. Two people meet on a ship, have a wild time together... and it ends with the man dying...
Or the original little mermaid book, and how humans should stay with humans, and merpeople with merpeople, and how a romance between the two would be foolish, and end in tragedy.
It's morbid, but I do believe Tali would appreciate that the story was to show that not all love ends in fantasy and dreams. It would show her how tragic it can become, for something as frail as love to be destroyed by any event. This sort of message would show that her own love would have to be special, it needs so mean something more to her than an idea. It would tell her that love, true love, must be sought and not given. If she can not suffer the duress of a tragic story, how would she go through what is happening now?
Interesting take, Azint.
I guess we'd never know if we didn't ask her.

hence why I am playing through ME2 again. With my Tali romance shep. Which, I need to point out, is interesting that you don't get the paragon or renegade boost from an ME1 playthrough on a new game plus. Makes you much more aware of what is necessary to generate paragon and renegade points.cannedcream wrote...
This is the longest I've ever obsessed over one media character. Usually the infatuation lasts for a few weeks, then fades. With Tali, though, the fading has yet to happen.
Granted, this thread hasn't been helping matters, but I'm not complaining.

I'd suggest the "xenophile" gene serves a purpose in promoting diversity of the human gene pool. Unfortunately it seems it can go haywire when confronted by fictional sexay.SpaceBuscuit wrote...
Hell, I've stared at her in elevators since ME1, when she wasn't even an LI. What is it about bowlegged aliens with back-curved calves and avian hands that does it for me? I don't know. Maybe some of us just have a xenophile gene that hasn't been activated due to lack of contact with aliens.

This is why I strongly believe they practice cultivation. The plaza we visit on the Rayya has plenty of foliage around, it seems plausible that the quarians would even raise crops in their own controlled environments. Sterlizing a plant is not as difficult as sterilizing any sort of meat, so why not grow food?uhdnrt wrote...

Right, so let's add RLR to Tali Movie Night.
