More irritating that they're usually BAD opinions, and they occasionally feel the need to be be hostile to the other people on your ship. Like Jacob and Thane, and Tali depending on how you interpret it.

I honestly doubt he meant to be hostile when introducing Tali, later they even seem to tolerate each other well enough, at least from what the game lets on.

Thane was inexcusable.

Jacob was a merc who is syaing mercs suck...... I wished Thane would have slaped Jacob for that.

It slipped my mind. Tali does begin to shift her stance on the geth once Legion enters, one that can be interpreted as open-minded and positive.

Or her horror about what her father did in the experiments. As you can see when you talk to Tali at the wall console thingy in her loyalty mission, Tali does not really know what she wants the Quarians to do. She doesn't want the Geth to "win" (part of this is simply because of symbolism of the "villains/enemy" "winning"), but she knows that blindly charging into Rannoch is a bad idea.

I disagree. What Tali says about the Geth was a generalization. She even wanted to leave Legion in the Reaper base because she's generalizing all Geth are murderous or otherwise undesirable. Part of her character development in ME2 - should you make certain options - is her starting to make peace with the Geth and learning that they are not all the same, or that they are not all unreasonable. Some of her comments in the elevator conversations also somewhat point to generalizations about the races. Certainly though, I found her less generalizing than Garrus or Wrex, for example.

I guess its because I see the geth issue differently than other situations.  Until Legion basically introduces a new species, Tali is right in my mind.  I don't see that as the same as generalizing all krogan as brutes or all Cerberus people as racist murderers.  As soon as Legion comes into the fray, I see a change in her.

Well there isn't much squad banter in general, really. It's hard to tell how some squad mates think about each other since with only a few exceptions, they don't even interact.

And considering the track record of those movies...nooooo.  Let's not give them any more credit.

Well, the artist did say she was going Gigeresque with it.

ETA: Obviously not keen on Giger.

Tali was openly hostile. I understand that. Jacob is human, I'm sure he felt angry at her.

And Legion too. He saw some bad **** at Eden Prime.

But then you see how much of a dick he is to Thane, and possibly Garrus, and I have to wonder if that's how he was being with Tali too. I'm sorry. After thinking about it long and hard, I just can't like the guy anymore.

To each their own, of course.

I liked monsoon's interpretation of Quarians (the one Pacifien posted). It has a nice level of "alien" to it, about the same level of the Drell. I vastly prefer it to any other interpretation I've seen.

Tali deserved it to be frank. If I was Jacob I would have been mean to her too since she started it. No one has free rign to run around the ship, act like a dick to anyone and get away with it.

I spent a good eight weeks pumping out pieces in tribute to H.R. Giger. The xenomorph being his most brilliant design, in my opinion. Species was okay.

Meh.

Another Giger alien.

I would be disappointed, but I wouldn't complain.

Yeah. I just stopped arguing this point because noone is going to change their side and nothing comes from the argument.

I have many friends who hate each other, so I often mediate. I have experience with this, I am actually patient with them. Of course Jacob would never be in the same circle as say Tali or Garrus, but you get the idea.

A good argument usually just adds perspective on the issue at hand.  Very rarely can you actually change someone's set opinion.

He has a gun, biotics, and is the enemy of my enemy. I respect he's a guy trying to do a job and help people.

But I'm still gonna use him as a meat shield if the people I actually view as family are taking fire.

For all of Jacob's claims to the contrary, he still shows stereotypical traits associated with Cerberus operatives.

I've taken the view that if you're on my crew, you get the same level of protection as anyone else until you betray my trust. Even if I don't like you very much. I like that Captain Tightpants approach.

Will he be a life sacraficed, or a life wasted?

There is a difference between using a person and having no choice. Your extreme hostility asserts the negative.
