I'll give you the part about renegade Shep fully intending to personally dismantle every geth on Rannoch, no matter the cost in lives.Collider wrote...
Of course, it's always possible that Shepard can actually agree with what he is saying instead of trying to tell Tali what she wants to hear. Actually, I saw Tali as very conflicted in that conversation. She doesn't want the Geth to "win" (which is very vague), but she doesn't know what she wants to the Quarians to do. She knows there are problems with both retaking Rannoch or simply settling on another planet. That it's not an easy task, and will come with it's own problems.
But it doesn't seem so renegade to be all "I'm sure your dad was gonna say he loved you if the message had went on a little longer."
The motivation that works for both lines is "tell her what she wants to hear." But then again, renegade Shep is all over the place in his motivations throughout the game, depending on what makes him look like a bigger douche at the moment.
As for the matter of Tali's own feelings: as some have pointed out, she's more doubtful about the renegade answer, whereas she's actually angry about the paragon one.

Not much, I'm sorry to say.
On a frivilous note, I wonder if she could drink coffee. Life is not complete without coffee...

New pistol, new Assault Rifle, new Shotgun.
The one time I make a non-Soldier or Vanguard playthrough.

The pistol is pretty pimp, though. And don't feel sorry about the new AR. It's not that good to be honest.

I don't think Shepard has to necessarily say that, if it's even possible in that conversation, if he expresses desire for the Quarians to retake Rannoch. He can just say, if I recall, that the Quarians should get their homeworld back and that he'll help them, but unsurprisingly, the player does not have to accompany that sentiment with any actual methods of doing so. He can basically just say "we'll win, and I'll help you" without saying how.NuclearBuddha wrote...

The dialog options are not always neatly categorized as paragon, neutral, renegade. A lot of times I disagree with their placements - if we follow that standard model of top - paragon, bottom -renegade, etc.But it doesn't seem so renegade to be all "I'm sure your dad was gonna say he loved you if the message had went on a little longer."
Or Shepard can genuinely think that Rael would have done that. The motivation that works for both lines is "tell her what she wants to hear." But then again, renegade Shep is all over the place in his motivations throughout the game, depending on what makes him look like a bigger douche at the moment.
I agree - that's part of why I saw Tali as conflicted and not really sure what she wants the Quarians to do.As for the matter of Tali's own feelings: as some have pointed out, she's more doubtful about the renegade answer, whereas she's actually angry about the paragon one.

That's just -like- your opinion, man. People say that all the time about the Avenger, and it's my favorite AR in the game. It might be just the thing i'm looking for.
I am also wondering about the pistol. I preferred the Predator over the Carnifex, so I wonder how the firepower to ammunition capacity works out there.
Hey. Don't knock the Predator. Garrus uses the Predator, and his service pistol has clearly served him well so far. For that matter, so does Tali.

I tend to rape face with semi-auto high powered rifles; like the M14 in BC2, or the BR/DMR in Halo 2/3/Reach.Someone With Mass wrote...

So, in my bias opinion: it's awesome.

*snip*
Hey, I like the Predator too. I usually take it myself while everyone else is doing the old hand cannon.
And the new pistol is pretty much like Carnifex, but with a slower rate of fire.
The new assault rifle is semi-auto and doesn't do so much damage compared to the rest. But I guess some people will love it, while I'm a little skeptical about it.
Maybe if I find the right ammo power to use with it. Cryo ammo, perhaps?

It does remind me of those rifles, and I'm going to give it a chance. I've only used it against geth thus far.

True - we do seem to have a different image of Shepard here. I try to not necessarily attribute some universal, inseperable motivation behind some/all of what Shepard says. due to the level of roleplaying available. Technically, in my head I can imagine whatever motivation I want for what Shepard says. Of course not all of them would make the most sense, but I can still see Shepard genuinely wanting the Quarians to retake Rannoch instead of just wanting to tell Tali what he thinks she wants to hear, etc.NuclearBuddha wrote...
Collider, I think we're talking across each other at this point. I've got a specific image of what's going on in renegade Shep's head, and it's not a pretty sight. That's where my suppositions are coming from. It is, of course, my opinion, but I think it's one that appears consistent across the conversations in question.

oh nice laser sight indeed.
The only bad thing about it is that it replaces the HUD's crosshair when you're zoomed in. Makes it a little difficult to see the dot sometimes.
