I never understood why they couldn't use a Phoenix Down to revive Aeris, either.

But I lol'd at this.

SHHHH!!!

If you must know, it's because there is no cure for 'cutscene dead'.

Tali practically drops the accent after a certain point in Mass Effect.

There is a spot on Therum where this happens.

She also starts talking in an american accent when you make the Council decision.

Was Liara actually considred a minor, though, or did she say that simply to imply that her people didn't respect her work because of her compartive youth?

There were some ME1 fans who apparently thought Tali was about 16 years old. Since Quarians live about as long as humans, stating Tali's age at the time of ME2 as 25, and therefore 23 in ME1, a fan's feelings toward her don't seem innapropriate. Personally, I never pictured Tali as younger than early twenties, but still....

Not that it would necessarily stop Shepard ;)

The whole discussion is irrelevant really because there aren't even uniform ages of consent across most countries, let alone the entire human population.  Assuming that an alien race of completely different biology has to abide the rules for your neighborhood is just one of those ignorant things that people do.

If we do want to use the direct age translation, Liara is about 10% through her life, putting her at 10-15 for humans.  Obviously that means nothing since she is clearly fully matured.

And Tali was 22 in ME1 IIRC.  Old enough by any standards, though her position as the fish out of water in the galaxy can lead to a younger feel.  If only Shep wasn't such a moron that it took him being vaporized by collectors to find out that Tali was there all along :(

She hadn't finished her pilgrimage.  By her societal standards, she was still a child.

I think so.

I dunno why everyone is getting so worked up about it. Weapon DLCs aren't worth the BW/MSP, in my opinion.

Well, from what I've heard, most of the weapons are practically cheat codes because they're so uber.

So much truth packed into this one sentence.

"If you fall,
I will catch you,
I'll be waiting,
Time after time.
If you're lost,
You can look and you will find me,
Time after time."

Absolutely. But I was thinking more in terms of how Bioware's audience might feel. Since Tali had become an attractive character to many fans, allowing them to believe that she is 16 might have left them feeling awkward. Stating her age as 24 in ME2 allays any negative connotations. It may not be rational in the context of alien biology, but it could still have been in the minds of the developers.

Kind of true.  I do wish that they actually implemented them into the game's economy (broken as it is).  Just make them available from some stores, or something...

But its just that, a societal standard.  Its like comparing graduating college with being an adult.  You're an adult when you reach a certain age, not accomplish a task that gets you accepted into society.  Assuming similar growth as humans, her body was likely matured years ago, which is all the discussion is about.

For some unkown reason, I just had the thought of Sten peddling for cookies from various Bioware characters, Tali included.
