Yea, I could never figure out if his "say hello to the AI" thing was him being an ass or him just being stupid. I always erred on the side of stupid. I mean that's a good insult and the rest of his insults are lame. He either got lucky there, or he had no idea what the crap he was saying.

I believe it was just a parting shot to get in the last word on Tali.  But since the crew never actually interacts that much who the hell knows.

I actually see Jacob has not minding being prejudged because of being with Cerberus. Jacob only really gets pissed off at Shepard if Shepard leads him on or tries to pry into parts of his personal life that he wants to get private. He knows that Cerberus is called a terrorist organization for good reasons.

So if Jacob was trying to get back at Tali, his voice actor did not sell it for me. I interpreted Jacob as just trying to welcome Tali onto the ship - and not realizing that AI is a touchy issue for Quarians.

I usually try to give J-star the benefit of the doubt, but it really does look like a comeback.  Tali is pretty sharp in that convo, even hurling back Jacob's attempt at an apology for the Cerberus thing.

Stupidity is not an excuse to be an ass. If it were, a lot more people would use it.

I meant stupid as in "oblivious" like the guy really had no clue what he said would be offensive.  I could never tell if he was an ass or if he was oblivious.

Thats one thing I missed from ME1, the elevator conversations.  The actual rides themselves were annoying, but seeing the characters interact was cool.

Would love to see something like that put in ME3.  Would love to see Garrus and Tali chatting...

Unfortunately, only 2-3 of the elevators had conversations. And they were still really slow.

The quicker loading screens were a breath of fresh air, in my opinion.

That would be a great thing to see in 3: more squad interaction like DA. Then we could learn if Jacob is a jerk or just lacks common sense. Well, I wouldn't as he's never used in my squad, but someone could.

Complete. Douchebag.

Eh, he was just looking out for Veetor. And it turns out that Douchebag Shepard can indeed ruin Veetor's life.

Maybe, but he also decides that he can lead better than Tali and starts a coup that gets him and all but, what, two other members of that entire squad killed (excluding Tali).

Not looking great for his character, I think.

I know, he's a bit of a hot head and should have trusted Tali's judgment. I just sympathize with his goal to protect Veetor. Cerberus isn't a nice organization.

I'd probably get annoyed if I was trying to be friendly with someone and they immediately jump down my throat.

Of course.  If there was another way to implement conversations between the squaddies, a-la-dragon age style... that would be awesome.

Indeed, which I why I make it perfectly clear throughout the game that I'm only working with them for as long as our goals line up. It should have come as no surprise to TIM when I blew the base. Guy must have thought I was joking all those times.

Probably wouldn't be too difficult, either. There's that one spontaneous conversation between Garrus and Tali on the Citadel (ironically about the elevators); they could just place a plethora of those around, and you get the best of both areas.

And Garrus and Tali could be even better buddies that way.

Well, at least a step up from snarky "I have a shotgun"

Yea, just location triggers like they had in DAO. Of course, people spam those, but I don't think it hurts. That's the only realistic way to get all the conversations anyway unless you rotate your party every two minutes and return to camp every five.

Mass Effect never really got banter right. KOTOR and Dragon Age were pretty damn close to getting it perfect, however.

Right.  I think it would be great, although the amount of squaddies in ME2 would make it a rather large chunk of dialogue.

Perhaps, in ME3, they will cut down a bit on the characters, and allow such conversations to happen.

I actually explained a possible Garrus betrayal scenario in the Garrus thread the other day.  Lemme see if I can dig up the post.

They should have the ability of being activated more than once, though.

Like in ME1, where the squad can say two-three things about their surroundings, but without having to push a button to make them say it. Sort of like those conversation you can walk in an out of in ME2. VGQ and FZT, or Lia'Vael for example.

Disagree that it was karma. Prazza acted out but it's not like he intended for anyone to die. He was trying to protect Veetor from someone who could very well mess Veetor up even more.

I saw a decent template for a small ME3 squad in another thread. Remember that you REQUIRE two teammates to be alive to survive the suicide mission, so it actually works out. You would get them in this order:

Liara T'soni
New Character 1
New Character 2
Ashley/Kaiden
ME2 Survivor 1
ME2 Survivor 2

And perhaps get a choice on who to pick from the ME2 group, assuming you didn't go for a "worst possible playthrough" attempt and only have two left, in which case you wouldn't get a choice. Personally, I'd like to see 8-10 squaddies, potentially variable based on ME2 survivor count, but this would still work.

I think that Garrus is the least likely to betray Shepard.
