Either that or the old grandpa telling the kids to quit being wimps.

Hey Tali thread, bump from Clan V, since your space bisquit is hanging with us *hands cookies*
I would like to read what Tali means to you, in all honesty. the past posts here actually made my heart melt. Go, blog this, I wanna read! Garrus agrees!

And so it shall. In my Shep's POV? Might as well *slip* some insert.

(lets say this is based on an off-screen conversation between them)

Pillars

"Tali?" Shepard furrows his eyebrow, squinting his sight and stare deep into Garrus' eyes. The Turian grins, his mandibles twitching as he raises both his hands up in reaction to his response. "What are you getting at, Garrus?"

"Just curious, Shepard." clicking his mandibles, Garrus let a friendly chuckle loose "I noticed back in the first Normandy how you've made constant visits to the engine room."

he paused.

"Not that it was any different than it is now. You're still coming down to the engine room and vanish for an hour or two without reporting back. Your friend in the main battery needs company sometimes."

"But everytime I drop by, you said you're busy doing 'calibrations'."

"Well, your timing...what's the human word...?" he rests his chin on his hands, pondering. "Ah, yes. Sucks."

"Laugh it up Garrus..."

The Turian let out a chuckle, which Shepard gladly join seconds later. As the two buddies smiles and laughs at each of their remarks, the hiss of the doors caught both of their attention as a Quarian walks in holding a datapad. She shook her head in approval to their comedic reaction and walks up to Garrus.

"Good day, miss Zorah." tease Garrus, acting all chivalric and full of mannerism. "What can thsi Turian do for you today?"

"Cut it out, you bosh'tet." she giggles, handing him the datapad. "I came by to tell you that we've increased the output of the drive core for the new N-88 Thanix Cannon you installed a few days ago. It should solve the lights and garbage disposal problems your new 'toy' caused."

she sighs. "You might need to recalibrate the weapon, though."

"Isn't that what he usually does? Calibrating his gun?" Shepard let out a chuckle, followed with Garrus and a 'broslap' on his shoulder. The human coughs as he takes the impact.

"You know Shep," Garrus remarks as a grin forms through his mandibles, placing his arm around Shepard's shoulder. "I thought I'm the only one capable of giving comments that definitely sounds wrong. Calibrating my gun?"

"What? I thought..." realization hits him seconds later. "Oh..."

the two bursts into laughter, with Tali standing there crossing her arms and shaking her head in disapproval. She finds it funny, sure, but it is slightly too profane for her liking. Instead, she joins the two with chuckles and sighs.

This caught Shepard's attention.

"So how's your day in engineering, Tali?" he asks, gaining her attention. "has the new Normandy given you any trouble yet?"

"Please Shepard, I'm a Quarian." she sneezes lightly, taking a deep breath before continuing. "The Normandy is performing even better than before, and there's nothing that is worth mentioning without boring you with technical details."

Shepard gave a warm smile and nod. "Hard day in engineering?"

"Always." she reply with a soft, reassuring tone. "But I'll never get tired of it, Shepard. With you by my--I-Imean, all of you by my side, these menial tasks were light in comparison."

A moment of silence envelopes the three as Shepard rubs the back of his head in slight embarassment, Tali fidgeting with her fingers, and Garrus grinning in glee at the sight of his companions.

"I-I should get back to engineering. I really need to clean that engine, talk to you later?" with that, Tali left the two and walks towards the elevator before disappearing from sight.

Now, only the Turian and the human were left in the main battery of the Normandy, still standing in silence, accompanied by the silent humm of the Normandy's engine which echoed across the entire frigate. Garrus let out a chuckle.

'You love her, didn't you?"

"W-what!?" Shepard jerked in surprise, catching the intent look of his Turian friend as he examines him from head to toe. "What makes you think that?"

"I can technically read the two of you like a book, Shepard." he said jokingly, "The more I spend with the two of you, the more I get to understand it."

he grins victoriously, his mandibles stretches wide and strong. "So, back to the main topic..."

"what is Tali to you?"

Shepard went silent, giving no response for a minute or two. He stops and ponders for the right word, fighting through his consciousness and emotions to find what is right that describes her before finally giving in to Garrus' pressure. "She's...a sister."

'What?"

'She's like a sister to me; a reflection of my little sister I lost in Mindoir."

"That's the answer you gave me back in the SR-1, Commander." Garrus' eyes became stern, his observation felt as if it drills into Shepard's very soul, gaining on him as every seconds pass. "What is she to you now?"

"Shepard, I honestly have never seen you so worked up and determined to get things done when it concerns the safety of our Quarian engineer. Back on Haestrom, I saw you change to a calculative sadist, killing Geth left and right with no remorse after listening to her entries. Seeing you fought the colosus at the end almost made me feel sorry for the Geth to have to face you."

Garrus let out a long sigh.

"Her trial was an insult, and you know it after talking with the Admirals. To be honest, I have never seen  you worked up before. The way you shout at them, remind them, and how you defend her to the last is enough to convince any lawyer to hire you as their speaker; heck, even a Salarian would be swayed to believe that fish exists in the Presidium lake! Shepard, the way how I see it..."

he strolls left and back to his starting position. "she meant more to you than just 'a sister'."

"She..." he stops, pondering for an appropriate response. Finally, he came to a conclusion "...yes Garrus, you are right."

"Tali is my pillar, my strength, my port in the storm, and my confidence. She was the reflection of my sister, but she meant more than that--she deserves better. I wouldn't be the 'first human SpecTre' if I never met her, nor would I accomplish my mission against Saren. She washes me off of my fear, my pain, and my sorrow from Mindoir, a memory that would lasts for eternity. She is the reason why I live, and why I fight; my hope for a better tomorrow."

straightening his figure, Shepard flood his eyes with confidence and stare back directly at his Turian brother. "I love her, Garrus. And I would go to the ends of the galaxy for her."

The Turian froze, his mandibles flexed in amusement and awe before grinning towards Shepard's response. "That's quite a speech, Commander. I can say, fighting Geth in the far rim is something of 'going to the ends of the galaxy' for her. I'm feeling sorry for the Geth now."

"Don't be." the two let out a chuckle. "You're also my pillar, Garrus."

"Shepard?"

"Even after two years of absence, you still put your trust in me despite my arrival with Cerberus agents. I don't think I can reach this far without your help, Garrus. I couldn't come to terms with my feelings either."

"No problem commander. That's what friends are for, right?"

Giving a fist, the two chuckle as they collide in unison. "Right."

"And now gee, look at the time..." Garrus remarks humorously. "Its time for calibrations! I think you should go down to engineering and bug the head engineer."

"Alright. Thanks for your pep-talk, Garrus. I enjoyed it."

"Anytime Shepard." the door to the main battery closes, leaving Garrus back in his station and the console presented before him. As he grins victoriously, he knew he has opened a new chapter in the lives of both of his closest companions. "Anytime..."

----

The humm of the massive drive core in the engineering is a welcoming sound that seeps deep into the soul of the young commander as he steps out of the elevator. Making his way towards the core, Shepard's heart thumps violently as he tries to grip through his recently-built confidence.

"The Collectors can kiss my ass. This is life and death situation, right here!"

The door to engineering opens, and standing behind her console is Tali'Zorah vas Normandy, working intently on the tasks assigned to her. As he approach her, his mind began to wonder as he observe her figure in awe before snapping back to reality, greeting her with confidence.

"Shepard! What can I do for you?"

"Have you got time to talk?"

"Sure. Let me just... Come on you little bosh'tet! Oh, sorry."

She pause, turning her attention away from her omni-tool and to the man before her.

"I've got a small fever, and I'm taking it out on the poor drive core. Don't worry, it's nothing serious. Got sloppy while doing some suit repairs."

This is Frederick J. Shepard, and as of this moment forward, the hearts of two individuals meld as one.

I'm really glad that Tali got some new kickass weapons, but I want something better. Like a mission devoted to her, or at least some more stuff to do with her after the O4R.

You're lucky <_<
PC doesn't seem to be getting that until the redirect bug is fixed.

A pack devoted to her would be nice. I think there's a hint of a Quarian song at the end of UNC: Geth Incursion if I remember.

...I wonder if Tali can sing?

The redirect bug...?

Anyway.

Singing shouldn't be a problem for Tali, because I think she has a pretty sweet voice.Posted Image

Everytime you press 'buy', it redirects to the ME main page and not to Bioware points as it should've been. I don't mind sticking Tali with the eviscerator; she's already a monster with it + cryo ammo.

Although with the Geth shotgun, she'll be harbinger herself. Love to see that happen...

And yeah, I'd love to listen to her sing. There must've been a Quarian song or something she can sing with Shepard by his side, some soft soothing music for the moment.

Garrus sings? I can't imagine it strangely...wonder what kind of song fits too...

I've read about a fifth of retribution now, and I thought: "Wouldn't it be cool if we, in ME3, stumbled across that quarian ship Gillian left with at the end in Ascension?"

They weren't supposed to be away that long, right? About five years or so?

Would be such a shameless self-promotion by Drew, but still very cool.

The Idenna? Don't you rescue a stranded quarian for them in ME2?

Earthborn was an orphan in a gang. Not quite the stuff of family getting slaughtered by slavers...But you can't be calling a past like that pansy worthy.

Bu- bu-, MY PARENTS ARE DEEEAAad... :crying:

Besides, sure, it's impressive to work your way up from the slums to become a marine, but then again, he was simply recruited.
Colonist Shepard somehow managed to survive long enough during a slaver attack without formal military training for the Alliance patrol to get there, then proceeds to join the military, just so it won't happen again.

But yeah, the only real pansy is Spacer Shep, even if it provides a nice background when compared to Tali. =]

Now, to get Andaius his Morinth Commando Leathers for his FemShep...

What would you rather see?

1) A colony of pre-morning war quarians still in existance.

2) An old ship wreck containing pre-morning war geth that never uplinked before the revolt.

I'd go with 1. At least then there's a colony for the fleet to go to. Pre-war geth would get uplinked and bam...ship full of either heretics or true geth. Either one is just begging for a rifle up the ass. Without the sweet talk.
