Since Mordin's speciality is all things biological and Tali's speciality is all things technological, it's a little hard to compare them. I consider them about equal, but if you forced me to choose, I'd say Mordin's smarter because he can formulate hypotheses so quickly.

Tali smiled underneath her visor. It certainly sounded like the Flotilla, individuals working together for the betterment of all.

Growing up with people around you, but you're still alone. In poverty, the entire world against you. Having to rise above that. Then, Sole Survivor. Tali watching her team getting wiped out. Twice. Can sympathize with that...

Colonist here, and have a story to tell. (note this is based on my Shepard...like the rest) 'John' is my Shep's mid-name.

*Tali and Shepard were nestling in their bed, snuggling as they watch the stars drift above them.*

Tali: Shepard, tell me about you before joining the Alliance

Shepard: I don't think you'll find that interesting, Tali. I'm just a colonists, growing up to be...what I want to be. Its not that interesting.

Tali: *rests on her elbow, eyes focused on Shepard* You know everything about me. I've told you my worries, my sorrows, my life...I want to know more about you.

Shepard: Tali, please...just drop it.

Tali: No, Shepard. *her tone became stern* You're hiding something from me. Your eyes, your...breathing change when you do so; I don't want that. If we are going to be together, I want to know more about you as you have learn about me.

Shepard: ...I was a colonist on Mindoir when the Batarians hit, Tali. They killed or dragged every last one of us while I watch in fear.

Tali: ...Shepard! What about...

Shepard: They're dead, Tali. Dead. Gone, taken! 

Tali: Shepard...I-I'm sorry...

Shepard: I was a coward. Sitting there as my parents were shot at gunpoint, hiding in fear from them. I lost my sister hours after the Batarians left; her wound was too great, and her illness didn't help either.

*silence*

Shepard: Sometimes I have nightmares, Tali; dreams that takes me back to Mindoir. If I just...just...

Tali: ...but you moved on, right?

Shepard: I did. When I joined the Alliance, I vowed myself as I swore an oath to save as many people I can. I want to save everyone, redeem myself from the act of cowardice in Mindoir. When I got the Star of Terra after the Skyllian Blitz, I don't feel thing.

*tightens his grip around Tali*

Shepard: It don't mean a thing. Its all worthless, a waste of resources. All the medals, all the killings I've done and nothing would change. Mark? Natasha? Elias? Dead. Jenkins? Ashley? Dead. It doesn't matter how much **** I pull, Tali. Nothing would bring them back, and there would still be people mourning for their loss.

*silence*

Shepard: Sorry Tali, I...

*places her finger on his lips, silencing him*

Tali: ...John, what matters is not the lives you lost, or the people you've failed. Its true that you can't save everyone or everything. I've watch you for a long time to understand the burden you carried, and sometimes you have to let it go.

Shepard: I did, Tali. I've moved on.

Tali: You can tell that to Joker or Jacob, but not to me. Garrus told me how wrecked you are after Horizon...

Shepard: If we were to arrive sooner...

Tali: If you were to arrive sooner, you wouldn't be...you'd be...I wouldn't be...

Shepard: ...Tali...

*Tali grips his hand tight*

Tali: You'd be gone, Shepard. The Collectors might have taken you along with the entire colony. You can't save everyone, but by Keelah you don't know how many people owes you.

*Tali sobs silently, with Shepard began comforting her*

Shepard: I'm sorry for bringing that up, Tali... I should've not...

Tali: Shepard, if you wish to atone them, then live and keep fighting for what you believe in. I'll always be there beside you, and I am willing to share the pain with you.
