Yeah, I'm going to have to vote for Legion on that one to not feel creepy.

Sorry~

Ditto. To be honest, there is a gaping hole in his "body," if you will, with zero affect on functionality.

Much thanks.
And with that, I contribute with a prompt for all you writers/Talimancers out there: Post War with Reapers - Shep/Tali (Doesn't need to be all complex, just where you see them after the epic conclusion to this ME trillogy)

My take: Given that Rannoch and a majority of the Quarian fleet made it through the war and that there is a co-existence with the Geth, Shepard and Tali become officially bonded and live out their lives in a newly built house on Rannoch. Likewise, Shepard is appointed the Human Ambassador to the Quarians, given his history with the fleet and Tali is promoted to the Admiralty Board, given her history of saving the galaxy numerous times along with Shepard and crew.

FFnet is full of stuff like that. Reclamation is particularly good.

Indeed. I frequent FFnet daily and do like a majority of the Shep/Tali stories on there.

Mine is pretty similar, though in my version, Tali/Shep turn down those positions.  There are people better suited to play the every day political game, their place is together on Rannoch in a secluded beach house.  Though they still have the Normandy close by to deter any potential invaders, as well as help the quarians out with whatever help they need in the reclamation process.  Tali has by now added the ability to dock without assistance.

I hadn't considered human ambassador to the quarians though, I like that position for Shep.  Assuming it doesn't interfere with his personal life.  My Shep has a beautiful wife and two adopted kids to take care of.

I think the technically martial government would be disbanded in favor for a government with a civilian at the top should they get Rannoch back.

Quarian government once they're back on Rannoch does interest me.  I can't see them rapidly changing their political structure immediately, simply because that would just further complicate the already difficult reclamation process.  I anticipate them keeping the martial law system in place for the immediate future, before that eventually gives way to a more standard set up.  When?  Depends on how fast the quarians can return to normal life on Rannoch.

I don't have the details memorized on the Conclave, but maybe that takes a more centralized role, with the admirality board either losing power or being disbanded completely.

Like Liberating for the way in which Shepard thinks, and how Tali is portrayed.

Like Sensations for the emotional ending.  Damn.

Like Beneath the Veil for the ideas regarding her suit and culture.

All three are interesting takes on Tali.  Drunk/Suicidal/Suit-Dependent

Yeah, I would also see them keeping their present government structure for the immediate future. Do we even know much about their pre-Geth system?

Good point. In thinking about it, considering how Democratic the Quarians are, I'd assume that they'd set up a type of republican (the system of govenrment, not political party for those who may be confused) government on their homeworld following their return. Though at the begining it'd probably be some type of transitional government to adapt to their new environment on Rannoch.

An excerpt from my newest series. Mass Effect 2: Discipline.

I love her...

That was the last thoughts of Shepard as he drifted into the space around Alchera. His lungs burned as they screamed for oxygen. He was so close to telling her how he felt. All he wanted was five more minutes. Just five minutes to tell his engineer just how much she meant to him. After all he’s been through: Mindoir, the Blitz. After all he’s done: Savior of Eden Prime, Feros, the Rachni, and the Citadel. Didn’t he deserve just five more minutes?

The bigger problem I see with returning to Rannoch is the economic side.  As the quarians expand, as they begin producing products again, a free market economy movement will eventually pop up, in an attempt to replace the communal system they have now.

Depending on how that free market movement begins, it could be a peaceful opposition.  Or, it could set up a black market on Rannoch.  Quarians trade materials destined for communal trading for luxury items from the black-marketers.  That would be a problem.

Burdens  and Sacrifice
Inspired by  Suteki  da Ni

*Everything burn all around them. Shephard pulled himself  from ground coughing or ghastly mix of  blood  and bile.*
Tali: Shepherd...please..I.. can't ..

Shephard: Tali there has to be another way  ,I won't let it end like this, not like this, anything but this...

Tali: Its the only way you know that...

Shephard: I'm not going to kill you... I can't... please don't ask me to.

Tali: Then Harbinger wins and everything,  Everyone including me died for nothing.

Shephard: I just you got back, I thought I lost you back on Rannoch. Harbinger had finally taken something that i could never get back. Now  you asking me...

Tali: I don't be trapped in my body watching hapless and that monster destroys everything I love.  I don't want to watch from inside my own head as kills,  You, Garrus,  Kasumi,  Auntie Ra'an... I can't ..  *tears  welling in her eyes as small threads of  yellow returned.*  Please...  Nathaniel.. you have too.

*Shephard closed his eyes fighting back the tears. Memories and dreams running through his mind. The night her first met her in the  Alley behind Cora's Den.    Them making love and he nursing back to health the day after.  Her desperate pleas for him end her suffering.  Her  taking the blast  of plasma from  Harbinger meant for him.  Him, her and Garrus watching the Noveria Sunset. *

Tali: Please...

*Shephard   opened he eyes tears  running down he cheek, brown eyes set, full of pain, regrets, and love. He would not let that  monster use her anyone longer.

Shephard: Don't worry... I'll set you free  *gathers a ball of biotic energy in his hand and rushing forward.*

*Flashback Earth 3 weeks earlier*

Tali: Its beautiful what is  it...   * spinning around and dancing  as fresh white  flakes feel to ground*

Shepherd: Its snow.   *Chuckling*

*back in the cabin they laid basking in the afterglow of their love making. She curled next to coughing slightly*

Shephard: You should have told me it if was too  soon we could...

Tali: Shhh, its okay I'm tired of being a prisonerr of my immune system, of my suit...

Shephard: But  you could..

Tali: Than I will   knowing that the last most wonderful moments of  my life were spent with man I love.

End flashback

*Shephard fist connected just  over her heart the shockwave blowing the back  her suit out.  She  feel in his arms  coughing out a small trickle of blood. Harbinger dark will fading. She smiled feeling his arms  hold her close.*

Tali: Thank...you..  * Reaching up, smiling wiping  the tears from his eyes*

Shephard: Why... just why?

Tali:Its okay,  You gave me something that I never thought  have Love... With you I was not prisoner  of my fate.  You set me free.   Promise me... that you want give up,  that you won't close your heart..

Shephard: Tali, I... can't. I don't have anything left to give..

Tali: Take care  of them for me,  Garrus and Kasumi, they'll  need you. Miranda too she may not show but she's a good person.  Promise me you'll live and cherish every moment.

Shephard: I promise...

Tali: I  glad, I could meet you... I don't have any ... regrets..

*Garrus  found them  as the automatic sprinklers in the Presidium activated  pouring water onto the fires much like rain. Just over the sound of the water  Garrus  felt his heart back  hearing the wail  grief from his friend.*

Garrus: Shephard...

Shephard:* carrying Tali*  Lets go

Garrus: I'm sorry, I wish...

Shephard: She's free now, she gave up everything for us to be free, to have the freedom she could never have.

*6 months  Later*

*standing  over looking Tali resting place*

Kasumi: Shep?   You miss her don't you..

Shephard: *closing his eyes taking in a depth breath*  I do,  I miss holding her, being with her, I miss the wonderful times we had together. Still when I close my eyes and listen on the breeze I still hear her laugh and feel her touch.  I will always cherish the time we had, it may not have been long but it was wonderful.

Is it just me, or does Tali's in-combat banter kinda seem flat? She has so much wonderful stuff in convos, and then it's just kinda "meh" in a fight. The only time I've heard her raise her voice in combat is when there's friendly fire incidents.

EDIT: Nitefyre, right now I'm playing Zaeed's loyalty mission.  I'm naming the next blue sunny I come across after you, and I am going to beat him excessively after I burn him with incindiery rounds.  NO KILLING TALI.  <_<
