Alright the thread died so here's a conversation piece.

What "evil" decision in a video game made you feel the worst?

I like all the VAs in Mass Effect. It's definitely one of the better voice-acted franchises.

Special regards for the ladies who play quarians.

I don't know if I should be happy or sad that I recognized all three with out even taking a full glance at the picture.

I'm not exactly a Mark Meer fan, but I don't understand the love Jennifer Hale gets. Meer is stiff, but Hale is melodramatic and way over-the-top. Can't take it, man.

I find it hilarious at some points, (when she's trying to sound threatening, for example) but I don't think I could take a whole playthrough of it.

And Mark is okay, I can tolerate him, but he's not exactly ahead of the crowd.

Gotta be Shadow of the Colossus, when you start killing off the Colossi, and you mutate.

It's for love, but it ultimately turns sour in the end.

I'd guess anything to do with rejecting Tali is probably going to top people's lists here. Anyway, Fallout 3 has a bunch of decisions that I didn't feel too great about, selling people into slavery, etc.

You could temporarily mute the volume.
That's what I do when Character's I find annoying speak.

His interrogation threat with the ball-cutting sounds pretty convincing. Hale? Not so much.

I am a little embarrassed but I have 3.

Killing Mission, Jolee, and Juhani when you get Sith on the galaxy in Kotor.

And if you can guess the other 2 you get a cookie.

Hint: They're all from either Kotor or Kotor 2.

I know all three, but I can't remember the name of the one in the middle.

Oh, and the VA who did VGQ deserves some credits too. Posted Image

I'll drop this here: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YourMileageMayVary

Also, all the VA's for the Quarians are perfectly cast.

That's just for ME though.
....if she got to do her real voice or her Bastila voice you would understand.

Unfortunately, ME is what we're judging here, so...

I thought so too, if I were to imagine Tali, Shala, and Xen in human form that's pretty much what they'd look like.

Meer is really good at doing Renegade Shep. Watch the 'Shepard is still a Jerk' montage on youtube (if you haven't already), you can tell he is really into it for a lot of those lines. If we were to relate this to Tali, Liz Sroka is so much better in ME2 than 1. Perhaps it had to do with the writing and the changes in the character, but she is a lot more convincing in ME2, fo rme anyway.

Yea. Sroka's voice acting in ME2 is great, in that it shows how much Tali changed and matured. Which I think was perfect for the character development of Tali in ME2.

Letting the   Crazy Wookie  kill Mira in Kotor 2 I liked Mira.

Mine are

having to kill the Boss at the end of  MGS 3: Snake Eater...  dear god I think I cried.  :crying:
and not being  able to  save Trish  inFamous no matter what choice i made.

You that Might be a bad Idea for a AU Mass Effect Story....
Tali is Daro'Xen  Student/ Protege'

Daro: Loyalty to the end Tali, so what  will be loyalty to mission, or loyalty to fleet. Loyalty to  people or loyalty to that human...

hmmm... I will put this  idea on a slow simmer see what the muses come up with.

Oh but I agree with you in that both of the VA's have their good side and bad side, and it's odd how people (like in the link) have such polar opposite opinions on Meer or Hale. I was just posting that for reference.

I take "evil" choices in video games so rarely that it's hard for me to single one out as making me feel terrible. Don't do it, you won't feel terrible.

That said, there was the SNES game way back when called Soul Blazer. Before the final battle, this princess you resuce early in the game asks if you're human (the answer is "no": the main character is like an angel or something sent to fix the world). There were no other choices in the game (back then everything was linear, of course) so the sudden option stunned me.

I lied.

Now, the answer you give changes nothing. In fact, her next line is exactly the same either way (it's cleverly worded so it applies to both answers). But I knew I'd lied.

Sorry for waxing goddamn nostalgic here. However, this is one of the reasons I take the paragon response RE: Rannoch on the Alarei.

At the risk of appearing just as stupid as I am, what's so special about today?
