It makes me wonder what you would have seen as great character development for these characters. Granted, I would like to have seen Wrex return too, but what exactly did you want of Garrus or Tali in ME2 that they didn't give you?
It isn't what Garrus and Tali didn't give me but what they took from me in a sense. Again, all of you are going to support Tali no matter what hense the purpose of this thread. Even if I had a point it would be shot down but I will continue to stress my case in that Tali and Garrus were purely brought back ONLY because people wanted to romance them. However it would appear that this notion is oblivious to people here and they want to act like Bioware brought them back because these two characters were SOOOO well developed and SOOOO well written in ME1 to the point where they just HAD to bring them back for ME2.
This goes all the way back to the old Mass Effect forums BEFORE Mass Effect 1 came out when the early concept out of Tali began to come out and instantly people started to talk about her body shape and how they hope she is a romanceable character only to find out that only Liara and Ashley were. ME1 was released there were threads after threads about how Tali had a sexy voice, sexy butt, sexy thighs, and very mysterious and so on and so forth. Eventually it became like a snowball effect in such a short time and eventually Tali became one of the first characters get support threads such as "Bring Tali back for ME2!!!" and "We should be allowed to romance Tali in ME2" and etc....yes, Wrex and all of the other ME1 cast got similar treatments but it was Tali and Garrus that got the "I wanna romance them in ME2" threads and mind you, Wrex didn't get this.
I will do my research and try to find it but I remember reading a interview only from Casey Hudson when he explained that under great fan support, they decided to bring back Tali and Garrus for ME2 because gamers wanted to romance them. He further mentions that the only reason why you couldn't romance them in ME1 was because they [Bioware] assumed that nobody would find a Turian attractive and nobody would be interested in an Alien such as Tali so they weren't romance options but for ME2, they decided to bring them back "at the request of the fans" and make them romance options.
NEVER did he or Bioware say that they brought them back because they were well-written characters and they wanted to continue their story in ME2. No, they were brought back because gamers wanted their Shepards to have sex with them.
Sometimes I wonder what Bioware would have done if they did not decide to bring back Garrus and Tali and how we would have gotten a new Turian and Quarian squad member with their new stories, backstories, personalities and motives. I guess we'll never know because Garrus and Tali won out the parts.
So it isn't what they didn't give me but what they took away from me and that was a fresh new view and experience with a totally different Turian and Quarian squad member.

The widow doesn't look it, but it shoots anti-matter. It just wins. You are right though, it would have been nice if there was a geth sniper rifle you could pick up when recruiting Legion on hardcore or higher (like the geth pulse rifle). One that could fire two shots per heat sink, to better represent how fast Legion could shoot?
This bugs me
It's an Anti-Material (Actually, should be spelled Anti-Materiel) Sniper Rifle, not an Anti-Matter Sniper Rifle. Anti-Materiel just means it's meant to be used against stuff with armor plating (where as Anti-Personnel would be for use against ground troops).

Take it with a grain of salt Kikai. Mondo, much like many of the rabid jack fans, tends to add a lot of "character development" to Jack that is not stated or implied in the game itself. Not that the Tali fans are not just as bad about it.Kikaimegami wrote...

Well, depends on the circumstance sure, but it's plausible once you have bits of metal achieveing speeds we can only dream of. Plus some of the ships in the fleet date back to when Quarians fled Rannoch, they may work like Talis says, but they can't be particularly reliable. Well feel free to comment, it's all good.

I wonder what Tali thinks about Thane.
She probably feels pretty sad for him. The guy has practically lost his entire family.

She killed the geth that did in her father with righteous fury, after all. I think she'd DEFINATELY sympathize.

Tali can be very beautiful. I love her purple burka.
"Burka" has a strong religious connotation.
I prefer "Veil" or "Hood" or "Shroud".
Either way... I agree. Purple is her color.

Good question actually, as a person she would get along with him fine, if they even interact at all, since Thane seems to keep to himself. As a merc who kills bad people, I don't see Tali really having a huge problem with it. I think she'd be pretty neutral towards his character in general.
They would have interesting conversation. Thane being a father that was not around much for his sons life and Tali being a child that did not get the interaction with her father she wanted. I Think may be able to give her some insight in how her father may have felt.
That's implying she would ever bother opening up and talking to Thane on such a personal level.
Which reminds me that I should really think about doing the inverses for Outside Perspective...
Why not, there could be a million reasons and millions setting to start conversation but is a conversation they can have.
